Update 2.45.0: Hip Holsters

Granvir: Zero Front · published · build 24872858

This week's update introduces small holsters through 9 variants of existing legs now equipped with hip mounted holsters. Small weapons like pistols, axes and short swords can be stored in hip holsters. Holsters are also now capable of performing cross-body swaps so a back right holster can now exchange weapons with a left side armature. Cross body swapping is available through a new control option on holsters.

2.45.0

Major Features

  • Added 9 new variants of existing legs with small holsters on the hips. The new variants can be upgraded to from their base parts using the Modify Parts rest area feature.

  • Added the ability for holsters to swap cross-body. Swapping cross-body uses an alternate keybinding.

  • Adjusted the holster size of some small melee weapons like axes and short swords to small.

Minor Features

  • Added the WF01 Crenelation torso, a tier 3 armored torso that boosts recoil control.

  • Added a tier 1 drill lance variant.

  • Added a new tertiary attack to drill lances. Drill lances can now be set into the ground and will propel the user forward as long as the drill stays in contact with the ground.

  • Added the ability to unset the hybrid lances and certain wrist weapon armatures without firing by releasing the keybinding before it is fully set.

  • Removed the hull bypass, armor bypass and hit point type damage boosts from melee weapons. These functionally equated to a small amount of extra damage and were not applied evenly across weapons or considered as part of their balancing.

  • Removed the melee speed enhancement. Variable weapon attack speed made it harder to learn the timing of weapons and reduced the quality of hit detection at high speeds and low frame rate. The existing damage boost enhancement already contributed as much DPS scaling as a ranged weapon's reload and fire rate enhancements.

  • Added Starting Escalation as a new custom difficulty setting.

Fixes

  • Fixed errors caused by swapping an arm holding a weapon with a weaponized armature while the cargo hold has none or one empty slot.

  • Fixed enemy spawn animations sometimes persisting after missions in Millennium Eclipse.

  • Fixed multiplayer issues caused by two users connecting at very similar times shortly after starting the lobby.

  • Fixed legs not standing properly on most buildings.
