Oasis Driver for Windows Mixed Reality · published · build 25155771

All credit goes to Bnuuy Solutions for developing the Ignition project to run SteamVR Windows drivers on Linux and to Supremium for writing missing USB support in Wine as well as bring-up support for Oasis.
Linux support is for advanced users, as VR on Linux still requires a lot of fiddling.
Switch to Oasis preview branch in Steam.
(Recommended) Switch SteamVR to beta branch.
Add the 70-wmr.rules found at the root of Oasis to your udev configuration (make sure to reload the udev rules and unplug/re-plug your headset after).
Note: On first run, a dialog "Wine Mono Install" will pop up, you may click Cancel to dismiss it.
Support for built-in Bluetooth receiver on Samsung Odyssey+, HP Reverb G1 and G2 is currently not functional (being looked into). Use the Bluetooth receiver on your PC.
Support for Windows key to act as a system click is not functional.
(HP Reverb G2 Omnicept) Support for eye tracking is not present. This would require to run the entire HP Omnicept Runtime stack with Proton, which is not on the menu.
I will offer very limited technical support. Best places to look at are the SteamVR logs:
~/.steam/steam/logs/vrserver.txt
and
~/.steam/steam/logs/vrcompositor.txt
Most issues today are due to:
Bad udev configuration (see above)
Wayland vs X11
AMD/Nvidia/MESA, etc versions
Bnuuy Solutions folks have documented many best practices and troubleshooting steps on the PSVR2 Tookit Linux page.
Bunny Solutions also recommends joining the Linux VR Adventures community.
This is FYI only, I had success with:
Ubuntu 24.04 + X11 + AMD GPU + HP Reverb G2
Ubuntu 24.04 + X11 + Nvidia GPU + Samsung Odyssey+
SteamOS + X11 + Acer AH101 / Samsung Odyssey+
I had no success with Wayland, therefore I do not recommend using Oasis with Wayland.
I was able to use Oasis on a Steam Machine, with the following caveats:
You must use Desktop mode
You must toggle Developer Mode and switch Desktop mode to X11 (Steam Settings -> Developer -> Use Legacy X11 Desktop Mode)
