Galactum Meridian Early Access Hotfix 0.2.2

This update addresses stuttering and severe frame-rate drops that some players experienced after landing on a planet and driving a rover across its surface.

What was causing the problem?

Some planetary environments were loading and repeatedly updating far more decorative objects and terrain information than necessary. On certain computers—particularly lower-specification systems—this could cause the game to become progressively slower during surface exploration.

What changed?

  • Reduced the performance cost of dense planetary environments.
  • Adjusted environmental detail according to the selected graphics quality.
  • Prevented scenery from being unnecessarily rebuilt while the rover is moving.
  • Stopped the game from preloading terrain assets that are not being used.
  • Reduced repeated terrain, camera, and material calculations.
  • Improved background loading when entering planetary surface missions.
  • Corrected several sources of periodic pauses and traversal stuttering.

These changes preserve planetary terrain, important landmarks, mission objectives, and scientific content while reducing unnecessary processing.

Existing saved games remain compatible with this update.

Thank you to everyone who reported these performance problems. Please continue letting us know if you encounter significant stuttering or unusually low frame rates during planetary exploration.
