I Rebuilt RoboSquare from scratch. [RoboSquare: Recharged] Announcment

You played the first one. Thank you.

RoboSquare came out on New Year's Eve 2021. Nearly 54,000 people played it and 248 of you left a review, most of them positive, which was more than I expected from a free game about robots shoving each other off a platform. A lot of those reviews said the same two things. There isn't enough of it, and I can't get into a match. Both were fair, and I couldn't fix either one without rebuilding the whole thing. So that's what I did.

RoboSquare: Recharged

Same idea, floating robots and the appalling things they do to each other, built properly this time. Sixteen of you drop into a lobby, play five randomly chosen minigames back to back, and score points every round until one bot is crowned champion.

Five modes, and two of them aren't about shoving

Race, Sumo and King of the Hill are the three you already know, rebuilt. The other two are new, and neither one is about pushing anybody off anything. Race: Obstacle courses full of swinging hammers, boost pads, moving platforms and cannons that were absolutely not there last lap.
Sumo: Last bot on the platform wins. The platform is smaller than you think and your friends are worse than you remember.
King of the Hill: Hold the zone. The zone moves. Everyone has noticed the zone moved.
Infection: Survivors run, the infected multiply, and the last clean bot alive gets the glory.
Capture the Core: Team warfare over cores, where one dedicated slammer can ruin an entire strategy.
Fourteen arenas across the five of them. Mid round, things go wrong on purpose. Gravity gets lazy, wind picks a direction and commits, bombs start falling, and sometimes a UFO turns up and helps itself to whoever is winning. You cannot plan for it. That is the point.

Driving that actually feels good

The first RoboSquare was hard to control and it never told you anything. You learned it by losing. There is a proper tutorial this time, and the handling was rebuilt from the ground up, so the difficulty is the fifteen people trying to knock you off rather than the robot you are sitting in.

Two things you'll want to know up front

It's a paid game and it's finished. Not Early Access, not a roadmap, not five modes arriving later. The first RoboSquare was free and that is most of how it found anyone, but Recharged is a full release at a price. Whatever else you think of it, it's the whole thing. I'll announce the price and the date as soon as I can commit to them.
On cosmetics. Most cosmetics are never behind a paywall. Crates and keys both drop from just playing, daily, for everyone. If you don't want to wait, you can buy keys too. That's the whole monetisation, and this time I built the economy myself.

Check out the store page! Wishlist it while you are there!

Wishlists are most of how Steam decides whether to show a game to anybody, so one from someone who played the first RoboSquare is worth more to me than almost anything else I could ask for. It takes a click and costs nothing.

As time went on, I started a few projects, but none of them felt great, something worth the time and effort. Then came along Glingdom, a strategy game ready to test your skill while providing the ability to unlock tons of interesting cards to create the perfect combos!
