Hello Talisman fans! ːTalProToadː

Welcome to The Inner Region Report, a new way our team here at Nomad Games are going to be keeping you up to date with everything going on in the world of Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, Talisman: Digital Classic Edition and beyond!

Whether you are looking for the latest 5th Edition patch notes, want to check in on classic updates, see what the awesome Talisman community has been doing or you’re eager for a glimpse at what we’re working on currently, you’ll find it all right here inside the Inner Region.

Now, given that it’s been a while since our last studio newsletter, there’s a lot of things to cover, so lets get stuck in!

First up, in May the Warhammer Skulls Festival returned for its 10th anniversary, and the realm of Talisman was transformed by the arrival of a massive new threat!

  • The Dead King DLC came to Steam: Our latest expansion has officially risen! Face a brutal "Player vs. Game" experience where you must defeat the undead horde before the Dead King consumes enough lives to conquer the Crown of Command.

  • All-New Full Solo Mode: For the first time in the 5th Edition ruleset, you can completely remove AI rivals and bots to face the Dead King on your own in a true test of strategy and Talisman skill.

  • Massive Franchise Savings: To celebrate the festival, we’ve launched the Talisman Digital: The Grand Master Collection bundle on Steam. If you’ve been waiting to fill out your DLC collection or grab everything Talisman in one go, the bundle is still available and will be for the foreseeable future!

  • Console Updates Go Live: For our console adventurers, The City Classic expansion was brought to Xbox and PlayStation in May, alongside the massive ‘Change of Fate’ Quality of Life update patch.

In the world of physical Talisman, Avalon Hill officially confirmed that they’re launching Talisman Sagas: Crown of Blood in May of this year. Which is bloody exciting!

Coming back to the digital world, we also released The City Classic and The Change of Fate Update for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition if you missed those launching!

The City Classic is our third remastered expansion from 4th Edition, and the start of us bringing all four corner expansions from 4th Edition into the Digital 5th Edition experience. One of the most-loved expansions from 4th Edition, community reception to the remastered version has been very positive, which is great to hear!

And remember, if you already own the 4th Edition version of The City, you can unlock this remastered expansion in-game within Talisman: Digital 5th Edition just by signing into your Nomad Account! Find out more about making the most of your free ownership entitlement in our DLC Sync Guide.

Alongside remastering older content, our philosophy with Talisman: Digital 5th Edition has been to balance the old with the new as much as we can, which is why we released The Change of Fate update for the game for free at the end of February. To name a few of the changes this update added, you can now input your own dice rolls, save multiple game setups and the option to see text on cards!

This has provided a very welcome boost to the core Digital 5th Edition experience, and we’ve only seen our Steam review scores go up since launching this massive quality-of-life update. If you want to read all the details (you’ll be here a while!) you can check the full patch notes in the original Steam blog when we launched the update:

Alongside all of the excitement happening in Talisman: Digital 5th Edition, there was more digital Talisman news that happened last month, with the relaunch of Talisman: Origins and Talisman: The Horus Heresy onto Steam and mobile!

Returning as part of the Warhammer Classics collection launched by Games Workshop, these two games join the ranks of titles like Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior, Space Hulk and Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate. For Talisman: The Horus Heresy particularly, we were pleased to see plenty of players excited to see the game make a return to storefronts.

Go check 'em out if you want a big of Talisman history!

As expected with the launch of a new expansion like The Dead King, you’ve all been sharing your victories, thoughts and highlights after diving into it, which has been great for our team to see. With The Talisman Tavern and Gaming Rules streaming the game and plenty of excitement on our official Discord, we’ve gathered some of the highlights from the last few months in one place for you.

First up, The Talisman Tavern celebrated their 50th live stream with a special The Dead King launch playthrough:

On launch day for The Dead King, our very own Tom took on the Dead King too, and talked about the process of bringing this expansion to life in 5th Edition:

If you want a more structured look at the expansion, Dad’s Gaming Addiction sat down to review the expansion too:

If you want a look specifically at The City Classic, then Purge did an entire playthrough with the expansion to show everything it brings to the 5th Edition experience:

And last (but definitely not least), Paul Grogan of Gaming Rules took on Alliances: Fate Beckons:

And finally, in this section of the newsletter, we’re going to talk about exciting future things we’re working on. We’re currently working on two major things here at Nomad Games for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition that we can talk about actually, so let’s talk about them!

The Dungeon Classic

Now we’ve launched The City Classic, we’re moving onto our next remastered corner expansion - The Dungeon Classic. Our art and development teams have now started work on bringing this iconic expansion to 5th Edition!

We are currently translating the perilous traps, dark chambers, and infamous encounters of the classic 4th Edition Dungeon into the new 5th Edition style and ruleset. We hope you’re ready to face the Lord of Darkness once again, because he’s been scheming some new tricks for his Dungeon!

We’ll have the first sneak peeks at the updated card art and character models to share with you soon as we get closer to launching the expansions in Autumn of this year.

The Dead King for Consoles

For our console adventurers, we know you’ve been watching Steam players take on Dead King during the Skulls Festival, and we are working hard to bring that exact same brutal "Player vs. Game" challenge to your Xbox and PlayStation screens as soon as we can.

Bringing an expansion to consoles requires a bit of extra optimization behind the scenes to ensure smooth performance, but we can confirm the gears are turning. Keep your eyes on our socials over the coming weeks, as we’ll be announcing the official console release date as soon as we’re ready to do so!

And that’s the end of this month's update!

If you’d like to follow our small games studio, you can find us all the places we’re online via our Linktree!
