Hi Necromancers!

This is the last Early Access update for Codex Mortis. It is live today, and the full 1.0 release follows on September 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM PST.

We prepared a short teaser that shows both changes in motion. Watch it below, then read on for the detail.

Build your deck

We rebuilt the way a build comes together. You assemble your own deck of cards (skills and spells) and carry it into combat as your loadout, so you decide what you will be casting before the first wave arrives.

Booster packs widen the pool you build from

Points you earn in your runs buy booster packs, and opening one adds new skills and spells to your collection. Every pack you open widens the pool your next deck is built from, and the collection behind your deck screen keeps growing for as long as you keep playing.

The whole game is isometric now

We reworked the entire game to an isometric angle and remade the presentation to match it. We reworked the visuals of the heroes, the enemies and the world around them.

What’s in Full Release

At 10:00 AM PST on September 24, 2026: five more schools of magic join the game and take the total to ten. They bring a large number of new spells with them, and because every school combines with the others, each one also adds synergies and mutations on top of what is already there. More heroes arrive alongside them and take the roster to 31, each with their own abilities, and more levels join the Apocrypha.

Thank you for playing through Early Access with us. We will see you on September 24! <3
