Combat Readability Improvements
We reduced the size of the player ship and standard enemies by 20%, creating more room for movement, clearer attack patterns, and cleaner shooting lanes during combat.
This update includes:
• More space to read incoming attacks and move between projectiles
• Clearer separation between ships during busy encounters
• Added an outline to the player ship so it stands out more clearly against level backgrounds and combat effects
• Movement and screen-edge behavior adjusted to suit the new scale
• PvP size-changing effects updated to work naturally with the new scale
• Boss sizes remain unchanged
Dash Improvements
The dash has been reworked to feel tighter, clearer, and more responsive.
This update includes:
• A shorter dash distance for more precise movement
• A new spaceship afterimage trail that follows each dash
• Smoother spacing and fading across the trail
• A crisp, fully visible player ship throughout the effect
Gameplay HUD Redesign
We redesigned the bottom gameplay HUD to make important information easier to read without taking attention away from the action.
This update includes:
• A more compact layout with larger labels, icons, and ability bars
• Clear rebound key prompts for Special, Dash, Assault Mode, and Turtle Mode
• A clearer display for the ship's current mode and available mode switches
• Ready indicators that pulse the relevant icon and label while keeping the bars stable
• Improved spacing, contrast, and legibility across different level backgrounds
• Dynamic movement that lets the HUD slide out of the way when the player ship flies into its area
Menu Navigation Improvements
Improved keyboard and controller navigation across several menus.
• Fixed the Friends virtual keyboard so directional input moves to the correct adjacent key
• Improved selection handling in the Pause menu
• Pause menu buttons now keep their intended highlighted style when focus changes
Prologue Improvements
The Prologue remains the opening tutorial, but its completion status is now handled through the player's real save data.
This update includes:
• Tutorial completion now persists through both offline and cloud saves
• Existing players with previous campaign progress are recognized automatically
• Leaving the tutorial before completing it will no longer count as completion
• Level 1 now sends players to the Prologue only when the tutorial is still required
• Tutorial callouts now point clearly to the correct controls on the redesigned HUD
• Legacy HUD callouts remain unchanged for players using the original layout
Campaign Presentation Improvements
Made another pass on the visual presentation of the early campaign.
This update includes:
• Improved background separation across early campaign levels
• Improved atmospheric consistency in Level 2
• More reliable scene-specific visual profile loading
• Fixed the end-of-mission player ship so it now flies fully out of view
Arabic Dialogue Update
Updated and refined 124 Arabic dialogue entries.
This includes improvements across the Prologue and campaign dialogue for a clearer and more natural reading experience.
New Feedback Invitation
Added a one-time optional invitation to join us on Discord or the Steam Community and share your thoughts about Beyond Solar.
The invitation appears after meaningful playtime or campaign progress, waits for a suitable moment, and will not interrupt matchmaking or an active multiplayer session. It is fully localized across all supported languages and can be dismissed with Maybe Later.
• Improved cleanup of player visual effects after a ship is destroyed
• Prevented repair-drone events from referencing a ship that is no longer active
• Improved input blocking so popup actions do not activate menus underneath them
• Improved focus restoration after closing the feedback prompt or Steam overlay
• Improved HUD behavior during ship overlap and tutorial callouts
• Improved visual profile handling when moving between scenes
