Following the announcement of the Vienna Expansion and Edition, today we want to give you a closer look at the new map.

Starting October 13, 2026, you’ll be able to explore Vienna by bus and tram. Three real-world routes take you through different parts of the Austrian capital, passing more than 1,000 realistically recreated buildings and numerous recognizable locations along the way.

So, all aboard! 🚋🚌

đźš‹ Three Real-World Routes Through Vienna

For the Vienna Expansion, we selected three real-world routes that showcase very different sides of Vienna.

Tram lines 37 and 38 both start at Schottentor and take you north through the city. If you prefer getting behind the wheel of a bus, you can take control of line 35A between Spittelau and Salmannsdorf.

Line 37 – Schottentor ↔ Hohe Warte

Your journey on line 37 begins at the centrally located Schottentor. From there, the route takes you through different parts of Vienna all the way to Hohe Warte.

Along the route, the cityscape gradually changes as densely built-up streets give way to quieter sections in the north of Vienna.

Line 38 – Schottentor ↔ Grinzing

Line 38 also starts at Schottentor but continues further towards Grinzing.

Along the way, the cityscape gradually changes until you reach one of Vienna’s best-known districts. Grinzing is particularly famous for its traditional Heuriger wine tavern culture, providing a distinctive setting for the end of the route.

Line 35A – Spittelau ↔ Salmannsdorf

Prefer exploring Vienna by bus? Then line 35A is waiting for you.

Between Spittelau and Salmannsdorf, you’ll experience Vienna from a different perspective and can operate the route with either a solo or articulated bus.

🏙️ Vienna in Detail

Bringing a real city to City Transport Simulator 2026 means much more to us than simply recreating its routes and stops.

Road layouts, intersections, stops, and the environments along all three routes are based on their real-world counterparts.

More than 1,000 buildings have been realistically recreated for the Vienna Expansion, allowing you to recognize numerous streets and characteristic locations along the routes.

Combined with AI traffic, passengers, and pedestrians, this creates an entirely new game world with a distinctly different character from Tramau while still making use of the familiar systems of City Transport Simulator 2026.

đźš‹ New Vehicles for Vienna

Of course, a new city also needs the right vehicles.

The Vienna Expansion adds new vehicles to your fleet, recreated to match Vienna’s public transport network and the three real-world routes featured in the expansion.

ULF A & ULF B

On tram lines 37 and 38, you can take control of the ULF A and ULF B.

These low-floor trams have been recreated based on their Vienna counterparts and feature corresponding driver cabs, controls, functions, and sounds.

Citybus C2

On line 35A, it’s time to leave the rails behind and hit the road.

The Citybus C2 is available as both a solo and articulated bus, bringing two different bus variants to the streets of Vienna.
