An Exercise in Mortality - Chapter I is now available.

This project has been part of my life for many years and will continue to be one in the years to come. After a long journey of development, I'm happy to finally share the first of three chapters with you.

In An Exercise in Mortality, you step into the role of a detective investigating why a seemingly peaceful village has suddenly become haunted by tragedy. To uncover the truth, you do not merely follow clues, but reconstruct events by placing yourself in the role of the perpetrator and simulating the crimes.

I made this game entirely by myself, over many years, alongside an ordinary working life, and poured a great deal of care into creating its world, mysteries, and systems.

Because An Exercise in Mortality is a text-rich, story-focused mystery game, reading and careful attention are central to the experience.

If you decide to uncover the mysteries behind the tragedy, I hope you find the journey as compelling as I found bringing it to life.

Thank you for your support.

While the game tells its complete story and is fully playable from start to finish, I'm releasing it earlier than I would have preferred due to circumstances outside of my control. Over the next 1–2 months I will continue actively working on a defined set of improvements…
