Captive 3000 Main Floors Soundtrack · published
I've just pushed a big batch of improvements to the Captive 3000 Demo on Windows and macOS. This is the October Next Fest polish pass — grab a controller, plug in a Deck, and dive back in.
There are now 9 achievements to chase across the first three star systems — take down elite bosses, breach a certain very dangerous door, and put the legendary Eye to rest. That last one has three tiers based on how efficiently you clear it, so there's a real reason to come back and beat your best run.
- On-screen button prompts now match YOUR controller — Xbox ABXY, PlayStation ✕○□△, or Steam Deck.
- Remap any action, including the B / Circle button (tap to bind, hold to back out).
- Hold a movement button to keep striding down long corridors instead of tapping over and over.
- Menus and dialogs are now fully D-pad navigable — pick options and confirm/cancel without ever touching a mouse.
- Fine cursor control has been smoothed out for those small hotspots.
The demo is set up for Deck with a proper on-screen keyboard for signing in, adaptive Deck button glyphs, and Deck-friendly defaults. It runs through our Windows build under Proton — playable now, with full verification to follow.
- Fixed a white-screen-on-launch issue some Windows players were hitting.
- Big performance win on lower-end PCs — the game now uses your GPU properly instead of falling back to slow software rendering.
- The Steam Overlay (Shift+Tab) now works correctly on Windows.
- True fullscreen now works on macOS.
- Cleaner sign-in screen, a more readable "Select Star System" menu, and a pile of smaller gamepad and UI fixes.
Sign in with Steam (no password needed), pick your handle, and you're playing. If you hit any snags — especially on Steam Deck or with a controller — drop a note here on the hub so I can take a look.
Enjoying the demo? Wishlisting the full game and leaving a quick review during Next Fest genuinely helps. Thank you! 🙏
