Milestone 6 Hotfix Update

Beastieball · published

We're updating the game with a bunch of small changes we've accrued from feedback reports + internal testing since the last Milestone update! Many of these fixes were applied without any corresponding patch notes in the days after the update shipped; others are being added in today's update.

✨Changes and improvements

  • Many more glasses options are now available for coaches
  • Added some new audio
    • Foley (footstep + other surface sounds) for metal objects
    • A shine sound for when Debugly's eyes shine (and possible other uses)
    • Other obscure spots which were missing unique sounds

🚧Fixes and Changes

  • Fixed issue with Beasties sometimes not visually moving to a new location on their Defense action until after the turn had resolved
  • Re-fixed issue where it was possible to accidentally Skip Defense in certain UI configurations
  • Fixed an issue where re-playing a certain minigame as part of Dominic's hangouts would also repeat some social system pop-ups
  • Re-factored how some mod systems are tracked to avoid issues where save files could be marked as modded when they aren't
  • Added Build to Celia's list of plays which can be taught as a favor (was originally intended, but the wrong ID was used in the initial update release)
  • Fix for Magpike mouth colors
  • Newly traded Beasties are no longer given the option to "Add to your Team" in the initial recruit screen
  • Fixed issues with Role Reverse's effects not working as intended
  • "Rowdy" attacks now also reset the Rowdy Beastie's trait to make trait disruption very slightly less effective for those matches
  • Adjusted some awkward collisions and gaps around the new area (Construczone)
  • Fixed a misplaced "portal" that allowed players to enter the Construczone from an unintended location
  • Adjusted some playbooks for Beasties in the Tower Tourney + Random Teams
  • Backrow-only attacks such as Rainbow are now treated as having a slight anti-synergy with forward passing abilities for generated teams
  • The AI is now more wary of Beasties that are SHOOK/TIRED/WIPED etc. but have a viable damage dealing attack
  • Away Team Beasties no longer appear as available to trade
  • Adjusted the origin point for Hopsong so that they don't clip into the ground as much
  • Adjusted Gremlur's Partner Combo effect so that it has some effect when they're Partners with Opposur
  • Fixed an issue where match replays wouldn't properly apply the nickname whitelist to Beasties that visit from online strangers
  • Fixed an issue where 2 different encounters with Jack could occur in the same location on the same save file
  • Fixed some issues with player hand skin color tinting which were introduced by the new added tones
  • Fixed issue with Beasties on your Away Team not properly appearing the the credits sequence
  • Adjusted some area layouts slightly to prevent bad out of bounds or improve clarity
  • Re-adjusted the skin color applied to coaches when starting a new game
  • Adjusted layering on the steam VFX around Rowdy Beasties
  • Added an extra hint to prevent getting stuck during a special event around Mainframe (this hint only appears in English for now...)
  • Made some adjustments specifically to prevent + correct a possible softlock during the above noted sequence using out-of-bounds clipping
  • Updated the appearance of some area on the map screen to match their new designs
  • Fixed a crash to do with the player not having enough Beasties for a post-game story event
  • Away Teams no longer will appear in most Construczone areas
  • Fixed a crash to do with entering a PVP game while in a Geo City area containing billboard ads
  • Fixed a crash to do with attacks that can bypass shields (Tough/Barriers) hitting into one such shield
  • Fixed some stray/transparent pixels in Riley's character art
  • Added more names to the Beastie nickname whitelist (mostly from the Portuguese translation)
  • Some extra safety added to prevent obscure crashes
  • Fixed some crashes/issues that were discovered by players modding game data
  • Made some changes to how play IDs are resolved to fix some incorrect data appearing in Beastie analytics
  • Fixed some typos
