Drive Beyond Horizons · published · build 25021757
Drivers, today we're welcoming a brand-new car to Drive Beyond Horizons: the Froggy.
Based on a legendary French car, this little beauty joins the Drive Beyond Horizons collection as a 1:1 reproduction. You can now find and rebuild it in-game, but be careful, it hides a secret!
As soon as the car reaches a 15° angle, it stays balanced on two wheels. Yes, you read that right. It's time to introduce two-wheel driving to Drive Beyond Horizons — well, almost haha.
How long will it take you to complete it? Let's find out!
We're also introducing a brand-new module: the Autopilot.
Once activated, your car will drive itself while following the road. This module is primarily aimed at content creators who want to take a break from the gameplay to talk to their audience, but it can also be useful for anyone who needs a quick break to pee — just avoid doing it DBH style, aim well.
The module can be found in the world and attached to the roof of your car. Once activated with B, the car locks itself to a set speed and slows down when approaching corners. Think of it as very defensive driving.
For the more adventurous drivers, however, there's also a "Good Luck" mode. It lets you go faster, but you'll be on your own — poles and bumpers are still your worst enemies hahaha. Yes, it makes me laugh a lot.
We saw your messages, and we understand that some of you would rather stay on Steam without joining us on Discord or Reddit.
We'd love to offer you the same experience here, but Steam currently lacks some of the tools that make this easier (such as voting systems, flexible Markdown, easy file sharing...).
Still, we can at least make sure you have access to the same information as our players on Discord and Reddit. That's why we've opened an Official News Feed.
Don't forget to follow it and check it whenever we post something new!
And we're also making it easier to contribute directly from the game.
We've developed a new way for you to report bugs directly from the game through BetaHub.
No login required. You can now report bugs quickly and easily without leaving Drive Beyond Horizons.
This is our first implementation of the system, and it may come with a few issues. The tool wasn't originally designed to work with such an old version of Unreal Engine, so if you encounter any problems while submitting a report, please let us know and provide as much detail as possible.
As always, the more information you can provide, the better. Tell us:
What objects are involved?
Does the issue happen with other objects as well?
What did you try before encountering the issue?
Can you reproduce it consistently?
And whenever possible, attach screenshots or videos to your report. Visual information can make a huge difference when investigating a bug. You can check a full guide here: Report A Bug.
We are introducing the Turkish interface in this update!
We would like to give a huge thank you to NEKIONEKI from our Discord server. They volunteered to translate the entire interface completely on their own, covering over 5,000 texts. It was a great experience, and we hope the result lives up to expectations!
For the occasion, we are also looking for volunteers for the other languages available in the game to review and verify the translations. If you are interested, please join us on Discord to apply. Several languages already have a translator, so we are mainly looking for people to help proofread and validate their work.
We will also create a post for each language on our server, where everyone can report any errors they find, making it easier for translators to review and fix them.
Fixed an issue where cars would spawn at world position 0,0,0 when loading the garage, causing them to appear outside the garage instead of in their parking spot.
Fixed a rare bug where the drift sound could get stuck and loop indefinitely even after the drift had ended.
The Loft Starter item now has proper collision detection, preventing it from clipping through the player or the environment.
Fuel no longer drains automatically when opening the tank lid. Fuel is now only consumed when it should be.
Fixed an issue where the 7 new cars could get stuck inside power poles after an impact instead of colliding normally.
Fixed an issue causing the new vehicles to lose fuel abnormally quickly.
Added missing rshop items for legacy cars, making more parts available for purchase again. If some are missing, please make a bug report.
The Loft dome light and universal dome light now use distinguishable models, making them easier to tell apart when purchasing or installing them.
Fixed the Streamer Mode. It will now properly hide your friend's name.
The cows were removed from the game because they produced too much poop, which could cause a memory leak. We'll get them back in a hotfix once we figure it out. How do we stop cows from pooping so much...
Polished the Tomahawk's lights for a cleaner and more accurate look.
Fixed a bug where purchasing the Tomahawk's right front headlight would deliver an empty package instead of the actual part.
Fixed an issue where the Tomahawk's left turn signal could disappear while driving.
Added the missing rear side windows to the Escada, allowing the vehicle to be fully completed.
Fixed an issue where interacting with the P-51's speedometer could cause the vehicle to transform unexpectedly.
Fixed an issue where vehicles could flip up when towing the Peak.
Fixed an issue where the player's arms and legs could become tangled while driving the Speedle.
Reworked the Controller Settings UI to make it more user-friendly.
Implemented a new deadzone system for control sticks.
Fixed many reported issues affecting users with different wheel and pedal hardware.
Wheel bindings now support multiple devices at the same time, allowing you to use different brands for your wheel, pedals, shifter, and other peripherals.
Introducing Shifter Support for manual driving.
At this moment, it is not considered to be fully supported. We need a lot of feedback from the community. If you have a steering wheel, please test it and give us some feedback on Discord!
The game is still in Early Access. You may encounter performance issues, bugs, or crashes. This is a normal part of development, and your feedback plays a key role in helping us improve the experience.
That said, some early technical decisions led to challenges we hadn’t fully anticipated.
As a reminder, part of the team is still actively supporting the current public and beta versions of the game, bringing updates, content, and optimizations, while another part is working in parallel on rebuilding core systems.
This includes developing a new version of the game from scratch using Unreal Engine 5.8 (or a later version). We’ll transition to this new version once it meets our quality standards. We’ll share more details about this in a dedicated update — in less than a month.
