The Forgotten Gods update is now out! You can read more about what's included here. Full patch notes are below!
First, a few important notes:
Some content is still a bit of a work in progress. The compendium is missing proper enemy icons, some sounds are placeholder or missing, and a few music tracks are missing.
The Compendium - there are no rewards for completion yet. Please don't grind filling it out.
Rune Abstraction - there is no mechanic for recovering runic powers you've abstracted yet, so be careful.
After updating to the new version, any save file you play on will be backed up. If you experience an issue with a save, fill out a bug report before restoring the backup.
Two new locations are now available.
The Fork of Forgotten Gods - This area can be accessed from the Traitors' Respite, although the path remains sealed when not under the moon's watch. It can also be accessed from the Catacombs.
The Catacombs of Rites - This area can be accessed from the Abandoned Waterways, Iresborough, and the Fork of Forgotten Gods.
Two new weapons can be acquired.
The Paegen Weaver - Fires a stream of tracking crystals, which build up the "crystallized" status effect. This status effect creates a small crystal explosion.
The Grenade Launcher - Heavy duty weapon that makes big explosions.
The Compendium - Residing in the Fork of Forgotten Gods, a new NPC grants you access to the compendium and expanded journal. The Compendium allows you to track enemies you've killed and provides some info about them.
Note: Some stuff is still a WIP, enemies don't have proper icons yet. There are no rewards for filling it out yet, so please don't spent a bunch of time grinding to get it completed!
Rune Abstraction - After locating a spirit stowed away in the Catacombs, you'll be able to engage in Rune Abstraction. This allows you to exchange certain runic powers for runeglass. You will be able to reacquire these runic powers again if you change your mind, however, at a significant cost.
Note: Getting them back is not implemented yet, so be cautious!
Runeglass Effigy - When you die, instead of losing runeglass directly, your carried runeglass will spawn a runeglass effigy. Upon picking it up, you will reacquire the runeglass you lost. This also heals you and provides a short damage buff. Dying without retrieving the runeglass effigy will cause the runeglass to be lost. Runeglass picked up in the world will still respawn, allowing you to find it again.
Upgrade Materials - These items can now be found scattered throughout Vilaura. They will be used in the upcoming weapon upgrade system. Currently, they serve no purpose, but it won't hurt to start collecting.
Haiza's Light (Flashlight) - A kind of flashlight that can be toggled off and on. Found in the Fork of Forgotten Gods.
Five new enemies have been added, and one new enemy variant.
Controller Support - Gamepad controllers (Xbox, DualSense, Steam Controller, Steam Deck) are now supported. Currently, there are no glyphs so tutorial text will still show keyboard inputs. Controller rebinding is also planned for later, but not currently implemented.

Fixed the doors to the catacombs in Iresborough sometimes failing to open, even if you had both keys, and both buttons were pressed.
When multiple enemies are gibbed in quick succession, it won't play a super loud noise any more.
Fixed crossbow bolts sometimes not having a particle effect when fired.
Fixed enemy gibs sometimes not having particle effects.
I'm working on a feature for tracking your progress in-game, however, it's not completed yet. Since part of the game is exploration and discovering secrets, I don't want to create a full list of where everything is, but I've been asked several times "how do I know when I'm done?" Below is a list of major objectives currently in the game.
