When you start a level in Burger Smash, before a single customer walks through the door, you're staring at an empty kitchen. This is the placement phase.

The placement menu is where you decide everything. Where does the grill go? How close is it to the counter? Where are your toppings stations sitting relative to where you'll be running back and forth? Every piece of equipment you place is a decision about how your service is going to flow once the orders start piling up.

Here's the thing most people don't realize at first: the layout you build isn't just decoration. It's your strategy. Put your grill too far from the serving counter and you're burning time on every single order.

We've been using the placement menu with placeholder UI for a while now, it worked, but it looked like it belonged in a different game. We're not artists, so we leaned on a generic UI pack to get things functional. It did the job, but it never felt like Burger Smash.

That changes now. Our artist has completely rebuilt the look of the placement menu from the ground up to match the world you're actually playing in. Same functionality, same flow but now when you're dragging a grill into position or scrolling through your unlocked equipment, it actually feels like you're setting up a kitchen, not clicking through a spreadsheet.

Here's what it used to look like:

And here's the new version:

Next update we thinking about going deep on either the streak system or the different counter types which one do you want to hear about? Drop a comment and let us know. And if you haven't already, wishlist Burger Smash so you don't miss what's coming.

Best wishes,

Antony & Lumbi
