Commanders!
Update 0.30.0 is now available, which contains the previously mentioned Tutorial Overhaul.
Tutorial
Whenever you start a New Game, a popup now appears asking you to configure how much tutorial you want for onboarding. The options are:
Enable All - This will be the option for players who are completely new to the genre, and wants a detailed explanation to every mechanic in the game, including those similar to other tower defense games.
Partially Disable - For players who are familar with the tower defense genre. The game will skim through some mechanics and will only go into detail mechanics unique to this game.
Disable All - No tutorials will be present at all, recommended only to veteran players of SND.
By default, tutorials will get disabled if you complete the tutorial for the current level and restart said level. There is now an option to disable this, so tutorials always gets activated, even after restarts.
Fixed tutorial arrow rendering above the Pause Menu.
Various gameplay and visual fixes related to the Tutorial.
Bug Fixes
Fixed projectiles from enemies (mainly Lobbers) not being able to damage the base, causing an endless loop.
Backend Changes
Spawn positions of enemies will now dynamically change based on the size of the enemy.
This makes the timing of enemies appearing onscreen more consistent and reduces situations where smaller enemies take longer to appear onscreen while larger enemies appear onscreen before the spawning is completed.
Visuals
Updated colour coding for arrows of Multiplier Indicators on the progress bar.
Previously, the arrows are coded red or green depending on whether they increase or decrease respectively. However, players may assume that green arrow means it is beneficial to them when the multiplier decreases. However, there are situations where this not the case. Now, the arrows are now colour coded depending on whether the change benefits the player, instead of raw values.
Slight adjustment to the positioning of the Reset All Bindings button in the Key Bindings section of the Settings menu.
Moved the Dialogue box slightly upwards.
I hope this tutorial overhaul will reduce the disruption to your game experience. Please let me know if you encounter any bugs in the Steam discussions.
Thank you everyone!
