Today’s update brings an important fix related to Steam achievements — proper unlocking and full achievement support inside the Statistics tab.
As mentioned earlier, I’ve been working on updating the Steam achievement system for the new engine version. Yesterday’s attempt didn’t succeed, but today it finally did. I tested unlocking the new achievement The Xibal’Teh Descent, which I successfully earned after this update.
Other achievements should now unlock correctly for everyone. If any achievement still fails to unlock on your side, please let me know.
Note: Steam’s achievement pop‑up behaves inconsistently. Sometimes it appears immediately in‑game, sometimes only after exiting Hiraeth — just like The Xibal’Teh Descent did for me. I’ll continue investigating, but as far as I know, Steam handles caching differently depending on the session.
For now, the game also shows an additional in‑game message when you unlock an achievement. This may disappear soon — I used it temporarily for testing, and sometimes it shows notifications for achievements already earned.
This section was previously empty. Now you’ll find all achievements you’ve unlocked. The layout will change visually in the future, but the system already works. Sometimes icons may load with a delay, but text appears instantly. You’ll also see your unlocked count vs. total achievements.
The new code now in Hiraeth will allow me to add leaderboards both in‑game and on the website. Personally, I’m very curious which of my friends has cooked more steaks or killed more spiders — and I think you might be too!
