Hello, cultists! AkaBaka here, and I'd like to start by saying thank you for an incredible launch. We've been paying close attention to your bug reports, reviews, and feedback over the last few days, and are rolling out some new features, some fixes, and some QoL improvements!

[Feature Added - Ending Gallery]

One of the most requested features from the streams we've been watching was an ending gallery, and so we've added one in to the main menu. It shows you which endings you've already obtained, and provides contextual hints on what to do to find the ones you haven't reached yet. This should point you in the right direction the same way that the old checkpoint system in the previous games did. As this is a new feature that we've added upon request, the game hasn't tracked which endings you've attained up to this point, and your ending list will be empty at first. Don't worry, however. The ending list checks your achievements, and will automatically award you any endings associated an achievement you have (so, all the hard ones!)

[Quality of Life Changes, Bugfixes, and Visitor Tweaks]

  • Improved the overall spawn chance of visitors each time you feed any item to Hheily to eliminate softlocks caused purely by bad luck. Encounters are plentiful.

  • Improved the spawn rate of flowers from the letter pile to be more useful and reliable.

  • Fixed a bug that caused Maria to not show up after being called if you selected certain dialogue options, or if you called her too late in a run.

  • Visitors that you deliberately call or have previously met return/appear with higher priority than those you haven't.

  • Once you've reached mid-game, unmet visitors whose arcs would be extremely difficult or impossible to complete in mid-late game are removed from the counter list, keeping only relevant and valuable visitors meetable.

  • Darkness has been readjusted -- it only takes 5 Darkness-related events to trigger the special NPC to appear at your door (was 6 out of 7 possible events), and she now appears with priority over basic NPC encounters.

  • Darkness events happen more aggressively once you've encountered any.

These changes have been rolled out over the course of the last few days with the intent of remaining authentic to the spirit of the game and preserving the randomness, but all in all giving players more agency amidst the chaos. The game is more reactive and responsive to your actions, and the frustration of being softlocked solely by having rotten luck should no longer be a concern.

[Killswitch - Manager and Kuma-gumi Enforcer]

  • The Manager phone call and the Kuma-gumi Enforcer have been disabled while we fix some unintended behaviors we noticed.

We're continuously tracking feedback, so if you like the changes, please let us know! And as always, if you run into any anomalies glitches things you shouldn't see in a game about eldritch horror, let us know in the Steam discussions!- AkaBaka and Black Lantern Collective P.S. If this is your first Sucker for Love game and enjoyed it, there's two other titles!
