SummonFall Demo Update .19: New Settings, Summon Commands & Combat Polish

Hello, Summoners!

Demo update .19 is now live. Rather than listing every small patch separately, we wanted to share the biggest player-facing improvements made since the original .10 demo.

The latest update focuses on making the game easier to configure, while previous updates improved summon control, bosses, combat clarity, and overall polish.

What's changed

  • A rebuilt Settings experience: Access the same settings from the main menu or pause menu, with dedicated Display, Audio, Combat & HUD, and Accessibility sections. This includes Master Volume, keyboard rebinding, Apply/Discard/Reset controls, duplicate-binding protection, unsaved-change prompts, and safer display rollback.
  • More control over your summons: Tap the Command Pulse key (Q by default) to direct their focus, or hold it to rally them back to you.
  • More distinctive demo bosses: Celdrix, Duskfang, and Graventhul now have distinct signature attacks and clearer telegraphs.
  • Rebuilt critical hits: Critical-hit handling is more consistent, equipment crit values were corrected, and critical strikes now have new audio, VFX, and combat text.
  • Crowded-fight improvements: Under-the-hood optimization and readability work makes busy encounters clearer, including clearer friendly and hostile projectile silhouettes and a player locator.
  • Loot and defeat polish: Collected item icons now fly to the bag, newly acquired items receive a temporary NEW badge, and player defeat has a stronger presentation.

Where we're heading

  • Now: Continue improving the demo based on player feedback, with priority given to frustrating, confusing, or disruptive issues.
  • Next: Bring the demo to Steam Next Fest from October 19-26 and learn from a wider group of first-time players.
  • Later: Continue working toward Early Access. We will announce its timing when the game reaches the quality bar we want, rather than committing to a date too early.

One question for you
