Hi everyone,
I’m the solo developer of Deep Drift: Signal Below, and this is my first game released on Steam.
First of all, thank you for trying the game. Even a short play session, a bug report, or a small piece of feedback means a lot to me at this early stage.
My long-term goal for Deep Drift is to create a 2D underwater adventure built around a feeling I would describe as beautiful danger: exploration, isolation, pressure, mystery, and the constant question of whether you should keep going deeper or return before it is too late.
I want the underwater world to feel unknown and meaningful, not just like a normal level with water in it. Ideally, each dive should make players ask:
“Do I have enough oxygen to go a bit deeper?”
“What is hidden in the darkness ahead?”
“Should I take one more salvage item, or return safely?”
“Am I really prepared for this depth?”
That is the direction I hope to keep improving step by step.
Right now, I’m especially looking for feedback on:
Oxygen and pressure balance
Difficulty curve
Upgrade cost and progression speed
Exploration clarity
Controls and movement feel
Enemy behavior and danger level
Moments that feel confusing, unfair, boring, or frustrating
Anything you wish the game had more of
Please feel free to share your thoughts in the Steam discussions. Screenshots, short clips, and specific examples are extremely helpful.
I’m not looking only for praise. Honest criticism is much more useful at this stage. If something does not feel good, I want to know why, so I can improve it.
Since this is my first Steam release, I know there is still a lot to learn and refine. My plan is to continue reading player feedback, fixing problems, improving balance, and gradually shaping the game into a deeper and more atmospheric underwater exploration experience.
Thank you for diving in.
