⚡ A Little More Time to Save Yourself!

Made a wrong move? Don't panic!

Disconnect 2 now gives you a second grace period when you press a direction that would send you to your doom.

🫣 Pressed the wrong direction? You have a split second to react.
🏃 Quickly choose a safe direction? Your mistake is cancelled and you keep moving.
✋ Let go of the dangerous input? The death is cancelled.
💀 Keep holding it? Well... you really did choose death.

While working on the game, I started to feel that some of the movement could feel janky or less responsive than it should. I believe this immediate punishment for directional inputs was a big part of that feeling.

The new grace period is designed to make the controls feel smoother, more responsive, and more forgiving, without taking away the challenge.

The game is still about paying attention and making quick decisions — but now a tiny accidental input doesn't have to end your run.

Every move matters... but now you get a tiny chance to take it back.

The character will also animate to a darker colour when you press a button that would lead to your death, giving you a clear visual indication that the direction you've chosen is dangerous.

These changes are intended to make the game feel less janky while keeping the fast-paced challenge intact.

Before the games became what they are today, the idea started with an initial animated prototype from when I was a game design student . This early version helped shape some of the ideas, atmosphere, and direction that would eventually become the Disconnect series. It was a much simpler concept than the g…
