The first days after launching the Revenggie demo have been incredibly exciting.
I've already received feedback from players, friends, and even a few people who discovered the game completely on their own. Every message has helped me look at Revenggie from a different perspective and identify things that I could improve.
So, before moving forward with the full game, I decided to take one final step back and give the demo a proper polish pass based on the feedback I've received.
This update focuses on making the experience clearer, smoother, better balanced, and easier to understand, especially during the most chaotic moments.
The QTEs have received several visual and gameplay improvements.
Replaced the old "TAP!" prompts with clearer "CLICK!" prompts.
Added visual mouse and controller button indicators to the QTEs.
Improved the boss camera during QTEs to provide a better view of incoming projectiles.
Fixed an issue where the boss QTE could fail to recognize clicks depending on where the mouse was positioned.
Improved the boss fight with additional projectile patterns and better performance optimization.
Reduced projectile damage to make the increased projectile density more manageable.
Increased the damage of the full-combo reward against the boss from 2000 to 2500.
Adjusted the full-combo coin reward to better fit the overall balance.
The goal is to keep the boss fight intense and chaotic without making it difficult to understand what is actually happening on screen.
One of the most important pieces of feedback I received was that the process of unlocking the Broccoli character wasn't clear enough.
This has now been improved.
Added a visual notification whenever a Special Seed is collected. The notification clearly explains that 5 Special Seeds are required to unlock Broccoli on the Farm HUB.
Added a simple step-by-step tutorial in the Farm explaining the process.
Improved the overall visual clarity of the Farm interface.
The goal is to make the game's progression easier to discover naturally, without requiring the player to already know what to look for.
Several mutations and rewards have also been refined based on feedback.
Increased the damage of the XP explosion mutation from 10 to 20.
Fixed the Attack Speed behavior of the Weed mutation.
Fixed the Attack Speed behavior of Mutator Fertilization.
Improved the way Attack Speed modifiers are calculated so they interact more naturally with the player's current build.
Increased the HP recovered by the lifesteal effect from 1 to 2.
Increased Giant Spider rewards by doubling its XP and tripling its coin reward.
These changes are intended to make different builds and encounters feel more rewarding while keeping the overall difficulty and progression balanced.
A few smaller improvements should make the overall experience more comfortable:
Added more precise camera zoom control using the mouse scroll wheel. Added an in-game notification explaining this feature.
Improved character selection and configuration screens by reducing background visual clutter.
Improved UI readability and text alignment.
Fixed camera inversion behavior in the settings and during the boss fight.
Camera inversion settings are now properly saved and restored.
This update also includes several smaller fixes and optimizations:
Adjusted post-processing scalability settings to improve overall performance.
Reduced unnecessary post-processing effects across the game's scenes.
Improved enemy navigation by adding collision points in strategic locations to reduce situations where enemies could become stuck.
Improved Giant Spider spawning reliability.
Added and updated all new English and Portuguese translations introduced with these changes.
This update represents the final polish pass specifically focused on the Revenggie demo.
From this point forward, I will continue collecting feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and ideas from everyone playing the demo, but future gameplay changes and new content will be developed with the full game in mind.
The demo already contains a good portion of Revenggie's core experience, and I believe this is now the best and most polished version of the demo I can offer while still leaving room for players to discover what the full game has in store.
So if you've already played the demo, please keep sharing your thoughts! Even small comments can make a huge difference in the development of an indie game.
Thanks to everyone who downloaded Revenggie, added it to their wishlist, joined the Discord, shared feedback, made videos, or simply gave the game a chance.
This project has been a huge personal journey for me, and seeing people actually discover and enjoy something I spent so much time creating means more than I can put into words.
Thank you very much for playing!
See you in the full game! 🧡
