Hello everyone!
The day we have all been waiting for is finally here.
It’s time to release our update to the main branch. Every single UX fix, compatibility with modern systems and ratios, achievements and so much more - now as a new standard for King’s Bounty: The Legend. No more switching branches, no extra steps, no hassle.
But wait. There is more! So much more.
Just a month ago, King’s Bounty celebrated its 18th birthday. So we prepared a few presents for this coming-of-age party, dedicated to everyone who has been part of this journey with us.
For example…
First things first - two additional achievements. The first one is simple. Just launch the game after the update, and you will receive it automatically. After all, the festivities are open to everyone!
The other one is tricky, but the reward is worth it. It’s called “Titanomachy”. To get it, you need to defeat three bosses: Gia, the Kraken, and the Spider Queen.
Please note that loading a save from a campaign where you have already completed this task will not unlock the achievement. You need to face them properly, in the same order you encounter them during the campaign , like a true Legend you are. No wiggling around, just an honest enemy-crushing that always lightens up the mood of the party.
Why is it worth the effort? Well, because the first 20 players who will be able to accomplish this… titanic task will win our Speedrun contest! Our community manager will contact the winners through DMs here to give them their reward: any game from the Fulqrum library of their choosing. And we have quite a library that spans through literal decades, so if you are fast and skilled enough - you will have plenty to choose from.
You can finally grab something you have wanted for a long time, or try to coerce one of your friends into becoming a King’s Bounty fan… Who are we to tell you what to do with your prize? Go nuts!

Now you have an option to enjoy such classic tracks as Dark Eclipse and Fear without worrying about the need to scrub your hard drive clean with a brush and a soap. Or you can go through the concept art of your favorite game to ponder the Zilgadis.
To top it off, The Legend receives its own set of Steam Trading Cards. Because we can. Because you asked us to do it. And because it’s just good ol’ fun.
We are not done yet! Let us talk about…
Ah, the modding scene. It was the main thing that kept the community going after all these years, and we want to give it its own flowers. And the update looked like a perfect opportunity to do just that.
Now the game supports the Workshop to the fullest, with seamless integration, so go forth and upload your best work for your fellow tacticians to enjoy.

Although, be aware, it’s still going to be moderated, and we reserve the right to remove any mod that includes 18+ adult content or anything that breaks the law in any way.

The rules are simple. Just write your favorite story about the game in the comments under this post. It could be anything, in any language. Some dear real-life memory related to King’s Bounty, or a funny in-game occurance. We don’t want to put any bounds on your nostalgia or creativity.
On the 1st of July we will pick 10 winners. Five of them will be the authors of our favorite stories, and five will be chosen randomly. Fortune favors the bold, after all. The winners will be posted in the comments, and our community manager will contact them through Steam DMs.
One thing though. Do not try to trick us with AI-generated text. It’s quite obvious and kinda lame. Any generative AI entries will be excluded from the giveaway, including the random draw.
And that’s almost it! But we have a few things to add.
If you are a fan of the original version and want to experience it to the fullest, we do not want to take that option away from you. We preserved it in the “Legacy” branch. You can switch to it at any moment through Steam, the same way you switched to the Beta branch. But FYI, achievements do not work there.
Next, we are not done with King’s Bounty! Armored Princess is next. Its beta branch already has most of the QoL fixes that we’ve added to The Legend, but now we’ve added its own unique achievements there. Check it out:
