Thank you for being patient. Here's an update!
You will notice that most mid-run upgrades have completely new effects. We wanted to make sure that every upgrade you choose feels mechanically distinct, visually explosive, and gives you that dopamine hit. Go break the game with some new builds! (Note: Permanent meta-upgrades remain unchanged in this patch.)
New upgrades have officially dropped into the pool! You can now equip an extra weapon during your runs, giving you an incredible power spike for the next 5 waves.
To create a deeper connection between the net and the combat, the boat will no longer shoot endlessly and now requires energy to fire. A new timer on your boat tracks how much energy remains. It drains constantly over time, and your weapons will stop shooting if it hits zero. Merging fish on your board is now the only way to refill the timer and keep your weapons active!
With much more powerful upgrades we’ve adjusted the pacing of combat to create a more exciting experience without making it feel overwhelming. The enemy spawn rates have been significantly increased but the movement speed has been reduced across the board.
We want you to have more time to react to potential disaster. When a creature touches the fail line, it will now blink for significantly longer, giving you a wider window to try and save your run.
Visual Clarity: Added new VFX across multiple weapons and abilities to bring more "juice" and combat feedback. Combo Visuals: Pulling off chain reactions on the board feels better now. You will be able to notice a distinct visual change when hitting merge combos.
UI Refresh: Cleaned up and redesigned the main game screen UI to give you a clearer view of the action and your resources.
Visual: The tutorial text and style have been rewritten to better fit the theme and lore of the game.
Onboarding: The tutorial now fully teaches the new fish-merging timer mechanic.
With all the balance changes we implemented since the last update, we noticed it’s no longer possible to beat the old high scores. So, to keep competition fair, the leaderboards have been wiped clean, and we’re looking for new high-scorers to claim the top spots!
