In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium, everyone has a function to fulfil, working away and sacrificing their lives so that the machine that is the Imperium keeps on running and humanity can survive amid the merciless stars. The Adeptus Mechanicus is one of the pillars of the Imperium and the knowledge its adepts gather and preserve in the name of the Machine God they worship is critical to the Imperium's continued operation.

Among its Tech-Priests, there are those who, besides being experts in arcane blessed knowledge and sacred machines, are versed in the mysteries of genetics, alchemy, and organics. Genetors probe the mysteries of the biological, creating strange cybernetic creature-amalgams and slaughtering xenos beyond number to uncover their alien frailties. The Quest for Knowledge leads many of them to search for the Machine God's revelations in the remotest and most mysterious corners of the Galaxy.

Eogunn Februs is a Genetor Extremis of unmatched proficiency in the art of augmetics and the methods of integrating implants with flesh. With a keen and restless intellect, he spends his time experimenting and contemplating. He works ceaselessly to discover a way to extend the functioning of the human body — whatever the cost. As a Tech-Priest Manipulus, he also wields the Motive Force via a galvanic cell, from which they channel powerful charges of The Motive Force. They drain power sources dry and use the energy to overcharge the cells of their warriors’ armaments, all while defending their divine work with blasts from their own arcane weapons.

Genetor Februs's manners are fairly eccentric, his speech esoteric, and his experiments often horrifying in the eyes of laypeople. He firmly believes that the xenos’s own technology can be turned against them and therefore doesn't shun its study, in spite of many believing this to be heretical and blasphemous.

But what is the price of touching things forbidden, and what sacrifices must be made in the name of reaching one’s goal? Confronting the unfathomable technological terror awakening in the Koronus Expanse will drive Eogunn's thirst for knowledge to extremes, and take him to the very threshold between genius and madness.
