One of the biggest changes since the playtest is the game’s completely upgraded visual style.
Every single Ritual-generated survivor in the game was deleted and rebuilt from scratch using our brand new character pipeline.
That means your hero is going to look even cooler before they are torn apart by zombie hordes. And perhaps most importantly… EVERYONE HAS CUSTOM SHOES NOW 👟
Your heroes now arrive with snazzy kicks specifically engineered for:
Running from zombies
Panicking in graveyards
Kicking explosive barrels
Dying stylishly

The demo includes a massive round of improvements, balancing, polish, and new content based directly on community feedback. Here are some highlights from the latest timeline repairs:
🧟 THE WORLD
Survivors now reward you with health pickups after rescue because apparently “saving innocent people” wasn’t enough motivation for some of you.
Failed survivors come back as zombies and yell at you about it
New dialogue and objective intro/outro lines added throughout the game
Zombies no longer randomly stand around reconsidering their life choices
New fog systems and atmosphere passes
Graveyard lighting improvements so you can clearly watch yourself get eaten in full cinematic detail.
Rural trainyard upgrades with freshly laid train tracks
Multiple visual polish passes across levels and UI. Humanity may be doomed but at least the menus look good

New tutorial screens to help fresh survivors navigate The Ritual
Keyboard auto-focus added during hero creation
XP pickups are clearer, easier to grab, and more satisfying
Better signposting so players stop accidentally ignoring incredibly important glowing objects

New level-up VFX
Ricochet and Split abilities now bounce off thrown bones
Zombie hit detection fixed so they stop slapping you from several postcodes away
Hero speed values repaired after some timeline maths disasters
Boss fights are now tougher and more closely tied to your generated hero. (Welcome to your own personal hell.)
