Demo coming soon - some cuts :(

Demo is coming soon, we're just awaiting Steam reviewing the page and putting last touches on things.

We wanted to warn ahead of time that unfortunately we've had to cut several things from the demo :(

We've had to eat features...

In the last post, we teased having multiple levels and a couple of features to go with that, such as a map for selecting levels.

We ran into several design issues with having more levels - they just didn't feel very good. It felt like you lost progress when you advanced, and that nice incremental feel was missing. Also, we simply didn't have time in our tiny team to really polish it up to the level we'd want it to be at.

But! We did land on a new idea that we're pretty excited about. We think it should make progressing feel more satisfying than levels, and it will let us easily expand with a bunch of nice stuff to the game. I'm not going to describe it directly here until we have a working version of it! I don't want to overpromise again...

So in the short term it means that you'll get a demo with not so much new stuff in it compared to the playtest - just a couple of new upgrades. And a heap of highly-requested improvements to the game! As well as fixes and tweaks to improve the overall experience of the game. Oh, and being able to save!

But in the long term, it should mean that the full game gets better and more polished! I hope you'll agree that that is what is important in the end.

Thanks for playing and following the game! I really hope you'll enjoy the polished demo!

Please share the game with friends or your favourite streamer, it helps an enormous amount! Small update: We got worried that someone might miss how to plant now that mouse movement is in. Click near the snail to move and water, and simply drag further away from the snail to sprint. You can now throw your keyboard out the window, keep your mouse in one hand and grab a big glass of juice with the other. Sip that juice while you collect that juice. I hope you'll enjoy Next Fest!
