Progress Report on Version 1.0 Development

Endure Island · published 16 Feb 2024, 13:01 UTC

We apologize for the extended wait. However, we're excited to announce that Version 1.0, featuring the highly anticipated main story mode, is nearing completion after a significant overhaul of gameplay and graphics since Version 0.2.

Let's review the main changes.
(Please note that the images are still in development.)

Overall Map Redesign and Improved Graphics

The overall density of the map has increased with the addition of more buildings and houses. Elevators have been introduced, providing access to underground areas. Additionally, there are now more objectives scattered throughout various locations, including quests and unique items found only in specific regions, so be sure to explore thoroughly.

Player-Controlled Changes to the Deserted Island

In Version 0.2, changes to the deserted island were based on obscure internal parameters that players found difficult to understand. These parameters, which are actually viruses, are now clearly visible in Version 1.0.

Various viruses drift around the deserted island, causing environmental changes. They can combine and mutate, leading to further alterations. The players' main objective is to collect these viruses for research. While they can extract viruses from items scattered across the island, players can also deliberately spread them in certain areas, inducing mutations. However, rest assured, you are the sole survivor on this deserted island.

Main Quests and Memory Retention

After investigating the viruses, players need to return the results to headquarters. They can use radios scattered around to call for a helicopter and escape. Since it takes time for the helicopter to arrive, players must consider their escape and adjust the environment to ensure survival. Additionally, there are several side quests on the island. Completing these allows players to retain the knowledge gained, which carries over to the next investigation.

As the story progresses, scenarios will change, and weapons found on the island will randomly come with mods.

As virus analysis and memory unlocking progress, various mods will be added. With the possibility of multiple mods on a single gun, players can encounter various combinations.

New Enemies

Formidable enemies, armed with guns, have been added. These enemies are also influenced by specific viruses, emphasizing the importance of strategic virus dissemination.

Bullet Time

The protagonist now has access to Bullet Time, enabling them to slow down perceived time and execute swift actions. Utilize this ability to accurately eliminate enemies.

Additionally, various updates have been implemented, including the ability to save progress midway through the game, ensuring flexibility in completing the game as desired.

We are aiming for an update release around the end of spring.
We apologize for the delay, but the update is now scheduled for August.
We regret to inform you that the release of the update will be further delayed. We are now aiming for a release in the first half of September.

We regularly provide progress reports on YouTube and Twitter, so be sure to check them out.

We appreciate your patience as we finalize this completely transformed game!
