Glimmer Heist Brings A New Agent, New Gods and New Ways to Raise Chaos

What is up, Agents! We’re back with Glimmer Heist, our latest update along the Neon Abyss 2 Early Access roadmap! In addition, we’ve got a new roadmap, as well - making sure that all of the upcoming changes to the Abyss are working on the things which are important to our Agents!

We’ve got a few new elements hitting the Abyss today so read on below to find out more about

  • Our brand-new Agent!

  • A returning Titan and a new God!

  • A new way to find a new favourite weapon!

  • More ways you can see (and affect) your stats!

Welcome to the Glimmer Heist, Cassie!

First up in the glimmering new Abyss is our new Agent - Cassie. Cassie is a rogueish little rebel with an eye for all things gold - and a penchant for robbing from the rich to give to the poor (as long as we class Cassie as “the poor”, right?).

Cassie’s standard weapon is the ranged Glint gun - which fires a lucky bullet every four shots. The number of lucky bullets scales with the keys you have, and Cassie has a way to  help you out there, as well.

To help you get more keys, you can save them up and use Cassie’s special ability - a Carousel Music Box - to unlock doors and chests in place of keys! Doing so does run a little risk, as if you get your timing wrong you might take some damage, but it also comes with its own reward as well.

A Gods Shooting Gallery!

We’re also bringing back a Titan of the first Abyss, with Prometheus making his way towards Neon Abyss 2 at an alarming rate (like, “he’s in there now and he’s gonna kick your butt” type alarming).

While we’re pretty sure Prometheus is going to give you enough of a challenge, we’re also throwing a new regular God into the mix - Lisa the God of Galleries! She’ll give you some gallery-security to keep you on your toes (and it’s tighter than the Louvre), so just, stay out of the red, right?

The All-New Training Room!

Once you get stuck in your ways, it can be really hard to find a new favourite weapon in the Abyss (how to you beat a ball-bouncing tennis racket?). To help you our a little, we’ve added a whole new area of the Bar, accessible through the door downstairs, to let you test drive new weapons.

In the Training Room Agents can select any unlocked weapon and take it into our holo-room (I’ve been told that I am legally not allowed to call it a HoloDeck… thanks Gene Roddenberry). Here you can check out the damage the new weapon can do against static, moving or multiple targets, all in a safe and controlled area where even you can’t muck it up.

New Stats!

We’ve now split stats into six exciting new categories, separating out Damage Bonus, Attack Speed, Projectile Range, Projectile Size, Critical Chance and Luck! Now I know what you’re asking, what’s the point of seeing these, what you want to do is change them, right?

Well, good news! Our new Artefact Extraction system lets you do just that, with direct impact on one or some of these stats! Extracting destroys artefacts, and instead adds bonuses to each of the six primary stats, and you can check on each of these in the pause menu!

Some Roadmap Changes!

Thanks again for the huge amount of support from Agents around the globe. We really couldn’t do it without you (well, we could. But it wouldn’t be as good). As such, we’re making some changes to the Early Access roadmap - allowing us to tackle more of the things which are important to you.

Our new roadmap has taken our Artistic Vision (I just like to get that into news when I can) and balances this against the improvements which our Agents have been chatting about on social media, Steam community and our very own Veewo Discord. This has meant that we've pushed the Curse system a little further out, and we're looking at where this can best fit with Agents' feedback and prioritise it accordingly.

The Extras!

As well as the major areas above, we've also added a BUNCH of new items to the Abyss, as well. You'll not find them all straight away, so here's a major list of minor things which you might see in today's update:

Curios

  • Cosmic Pouch: Consumes Crystals to collect nearby drops. Generates an Artifact after collecting enough items.

  • Kane's Cube: Consumes Crystals to convert Relics in the room into Artifacts.

  • Glass Die: Consumes Crystals to duplicate and transform a random item in the room.

  • Express Box: Consumes Crystals to pack all room items into the box. If the box contains items, releases them instead.

Artifacts

  • Royal Ring: Reduces required set items by 2.

  • Purity Sigil: Damage increases with Faith. At full Faith, gain +1 projectile.

  • Prismatic Stone: Converts 1 Crystal into an Orbital during combat. At Death's Door, all Crystals become Orbital Crystals.

  • Ghost Proxy: +20% move speed. 50% of speed bonuses also affect attack speed.

  • Masquerade Ball: Getting hurt generates a Bouncy Heart that disappears after a while.

  • Westview Radio: Gain a random combat Artifact effect when entering battle.

  • Lonely Skateboard: +20% move speed. All movement speed bonuses now affect attack speed.

  • Squid Brooch: -10% damage when coins <100; +30% damage when coins >300.

  • Beep Watch: Standing still for 1s gradually increases attack speed.

  • Energy Cube: Activating Portal Stones drops Shields or Moldy Hearts. Increases all Shield drop rates.

  • Phonograph: Drops a random Wonder Vessel. Using a Wonder Vessel triggers the previous vessel's effect again.

  • Pink Keycard: Hidden Rooms always drop 1 Heart and grant +5% permanent damage.

  • Blackbrew: When out of Bombs, consume 2 Crystals to throw one, accompanied by a magic nova.

  • Firecracker: Thrown Bombs may drop Chests. +2 Bombs.

Relics

  • Philosopher's Stone: Extracting weapons deals damage but grants a random Artifact instead of Soul Shards.

  • Empty Cup: Weapons no longer level up, but you can still enter weapon upgrade areas.

  • Sim Wheel: Greatly increases movement speed.

Hexjars

  • Artisan Jar: Fills current weapon EXP.

  • Candle Jar: Fills Faith meter.

  • Mushroom Jar: Increases character size.

  • Capsule Jar: Decreases character size.

Oddities

  • Goose: When hurt, becomes enraged and summons attacking geese.

  • Glass Jar: Throw at items to store them. Throw again to release stored items.

  • Goblin Chest: Throw at items to possibly duplicate or confiscate them.

  • Orange Cat: When carried, getting hurt triggers roulette (yellow drops coins, red increases size). Larger size means more potential coin drops.

  • Big Wonder Cube: A cube with magical effects. Lift and throw!

  • Small Wonder Cube: A cube with magical effects. Lift and throw!

Follow for More!
