We have some big news to share: starting this month, Forest Prison will become a free-to-play title on Steam. This decision wasn’t made lightly; it comes from months of listening to feedback, studying our player data, and mapping the long-term health of the game.
Free-to-play is only step one. Starting this summer we’ll roll out a series of optional, paid add-ons—think story expansions, co-op challenge packs, and cosmetic bundles. All gameplay-critical updates
remain entirely free for everyone. Our goal is a fair model: pay only for content that expands or customises your experience, never for power.
