Hi there!

This is the first official update for the game, (excluding some minor hotfixes secretly done in between) and this will include an introduction of a new difficulty setting and addition of level variants.

Difficulty Adjustments

Few days ago, I received multiple great, thoughtful reviews regarding the replayability of the game and the depth of game mechanics. The problem was that the easiest difficulty had little to none replayability, and was too expectable. Uh... And I did not see the problem with it until I read them until the end.

I realized that quite a large portion of players won't bother to increase the difficulty settings at all, if the easiest difficulty turns out not to be fun. It's maybe because usual horror game mechanics does not respond to small difficulty tweaks that much, but you know, this is the unusual one. I designed the game to be fully enjoyed on either Hard or the GIGACHAD difficulty, but there was no meaning to it if the players end up never trying it out.

So I decided to make the easiest one (which is newly called as "Kids" difficulty) just slightly easier than the original Hard difficulty, and came up with two new difficulty settings from that one. But it should still be OK, since there are lots of herbal remedies lying around in the easiest difficulty settings :D

Oh, and check out Four 9, the Shadow Corridor speedrunner's live gameplay stream if you are struggling on the final achievement :)

New Level Variants

Actually, there were three levels in the game from the start. There were two more level variants that was designed based on the original one, but it was something that was hidden and only could be accessed by literally clicking at the teddy bear at the main menu.

But since only 2% of all players seemed to find it out, I decided to make it more explicit, randomly switching levels on each load of the main menu. You will still be able to cycle between the levels by clicking at the object under the first light switch. (Teddy, Painting, and Lamp)

Steam Workshop, Coming Soon!

The next major update will include Steam Workshop, where you can switch the sprites of the ghost and multiple soundclips like the warning music. I'll be really happy to see Sanic blazing around the level with that crazy theme...

Well then, I hope you have fun, and if there are any bugs, suggestions or ideas, feel free to contact me through discord anytime!
