The Sundering — v0.2.0

A new continent has torn its way into Eloria. Three factions have claimed what's left of it, and the wound at its centre is still open.

This is the largest update since launch: a whole new landmass, a second class for anyone who wants one, and a long list of fixes and quality-of-life changes.

⚔ A New Continent

Pledge yourself to a faction and the Sundering opens to you. There's no boat and no portal — your allegiance is the door. Once you've chosen, a new Sundering tab appears on your World Map and you can travel straight to your faction's capital.

  • Dawnspire Bastion, Umbral Hold and The Wellspring — the three faction capitals. Safe ground, and your way in.
  • The Reclaimed Dominion, The Umbral Reach and The Nascent Wilds — Lv 31-39 hunting grounds, one for each faction.
  • Dawnfield Terraces — golden terraces on the Light frontier.
  • The Sundering Scar — Lv 42-50. The wound itself, and the hardest ground in the game. There is no teleport here; you walk in from your faction's field zone.

Every zone has its own music, its own monsters, and its own world bosses. Expect at least three bosses roaming each field zone.

🛡 Weave Armour and New Materials

Each faction has its own endgame armour set — Dawnweave, Duskweave and Rootweave — with Exalted versions for those who push further. Sundering bosses drop the pieces directly.

Elorite is the new upgrade material for weave armour. Each attempt to strengthen a piece consumes Elorite alongside gold, and the cost climbs as the piece gets stronger.

A note on trading: weave armour launches untradeable. Every piece is tracked individually so it can't be duplicated, and the marketplace can't safely hand that tracking over between players yet. I'd rather it be untradeable than exploitable. Trading will open once that's properly built.

✨ A Second Calling — Multiclass

Your class is no longer a one-time decision. Speak to Master Aldric and you can learn an additional class for 10,000 Lumina, then switch freely between the ones you know.

  • Your first class is still free — the Lv 10 ceremony hasn't changed.
  • Each class keeps its own gear, skills and hotbar through Loadouts. Switching is one click.
  • Classes are learned per character, not per account.
  • The Warrior is now available to everyone — no longer marked Coming Soon.

🔥 Boss Fights Are Real Fights Again

Heavily armoured builds could reduce world bosses to chip damage, which made the best gear in the game trivialise its hardest content. Bosses now always land a meaningful portion of your health, no matter how much Defence you stack. Boss attack values were retuned to match, so this isn't a blanket difficulty spike — it's an end to being untouchable.

  • Elite monsters are now identifiable at a glance — their names show in violet.
  • Boss health now displays as a percentage instead of raw numbers.
  • Bosses dragged out of their arenas now reset properly instead of being kited across the zone.

💰 World Boss Loot

Loot from world bosses is now handled by the server and awarded fairly:

  • Whoever dealt the most damage — and their party — get a 5 second priority window to claim, then it's open to everyone.
  • Landing the first hit counts toward your share, so opening a fight is worth something even if you don't top the damage.

🏹 Ranger and Assassin Accuracy

Rangers and Assassins have carried a temporary accuracy bonus since 1.6.14. With Duskweave, enchantments and Collections all now offering real accuracy, that crutch retires. Their Combat Power calculation has been adjusted so the change is reflected honestly rather than looking like a loss of power.

🔧 Quality of Life

  • Storage: double-click an item to move the whole stack in or out, as long as you can carry it.
  • Storage: item details now show everything the inventory does — sockets, stats and grade.
  • Upgrading: socket counts are now visible in the upgrade window.
  • Risky crafts: a "don't warn me again" option for those who know what they're doing.
  • Character panel: split into Combat Stats and Gear Sets tabs, and a Reallocate button now sits with your stats.
  • Auto-Hunt: you can now require a minimum number of monsters in range before AoE skills fire, so you stop wasting them on single targets.
  • Auto-Hunt: fixed a case where a distant boss that still had you in its sights would pull your character away from the monster right next to you.
  • Flight: movement speed bonuses now apply to flying, so a speed build is no longer faster on foot than in the air.
  • Waypoints: teleporting now lands you beside the pillar and keeps you there.
  • Fixed a Goblin Hills waypoint that sat outside the map entirely.
  • Enchantment Stones can be traded again.

⚖ Fair Play

Gear upgrading, socket extension and gem socketing are now resolved entirely on the server. The odds you see are the odds you get, and a modified game client can no longer influence them. The same goes for every Sundering drop — all of it is granted and recorded server-side.

🚀 Performance

A large pass on the village and surrounding areas cut the rendered detail roughly in half without changing how anything looks, and dozens of models were optimised. Log output was also trimmed heavily, which should help anyone who's been submitting crash reports.

More performance work is coming in the next patch.

Thank you for playing, and for every bug report and suggestion that shaped this update. A lot of what's in these notes came directly from the Discord.

See you in the Scar.
