Hey mushroom family,
My publishers and I were recently hit with a Cease & Desist order, demanding we change the name of my character and game title. It's been a difficult week or so since this happened, but unfortunately due to legal reasons I must make these name changes. This didn't come easy to me, given how close we are to release and how attached I am to this character, but the decision isn't mine or my publisher's to make anymore
I've decided to rename my character to Smushi (pronounced Smush-y), making the new title of my game Smushi Come Home. It was a difficult decision to make since all I want to bring people happiness and joy and my character is a big part of that. But I hope you come to like the new name just as much as I already have and I'm really looking forward to everyone finally playing!
Thank you all so much for the continued support. Making this game has been the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life, yet it's been immensely rewarding and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. Seeing people of all ages across the world be excited for my little game brings me more joy than you can imagine and I feel truly blessed. Rest assured, Smushi Come Home is coming out very soon and I hope you're still as excited as I am for its release! <3
