This major update brings big improvements to performance, accessibility, and the overall learning experience. Here’s what’s new:
1. Smoother performance across the board
The game now runs more smoothly, with higher FPS even on slower machines.
2. Full Steam Deck support
WonderLang now plays flawlessly on Steam Deck, with an official control layout optimized for handheld play.
3. Smarter auto-saving
The game now automatically saves after each dialogue, making it easier to stop and resume anytime — no progress lost!
4. Slowed-down speech options + improved listening support
All NPC lines are now slightly slower by default, to improve clarity.
You can also replay lines at a slower speed during dialogues, exercises, and reviews — perfect for learners.
5. In-game notepad for taking and reviewing notes
Take notes during dialogues or from the pause menu (check your documents for the notepad item).
You can also review your notes during certain dialogue exercises.
6. Mouse playability significantly improved
Better pathfinding and smoother movement
Events/NPCs no longer trigger by accident
Transitions between areas now work reliably with mouse only
7. Type accented characters with your physical keyboard
Special characters (é, ç, ñ, etc.) are now assigned to number keys on your physical keyboard — no need to open the visual keyboard if you don’t want to.
8. Now compatible with Intel-based Macs
WonderLang now runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel-based Macs.
9. Improved character portraits
Some portraits were updated to create a more cohesive and consistent art style.
10. Added missing voice lines
A few missing audio lines have now been added.
11. Better mini-game experience
Several mini-games and test sections were tweaked for smoother, more intuitive gameplay.
12. Bug fixes and visual polish
Various minor bugs and display issues have been cleaned up.
