Dear Survivors,
It’s been two weeks since the Full Release, and we’re incredibly grateful for the amazing response from players and creators alike. Your feedback continues to play a vital role in helping us improve the experience.
Hotfix 2 is now live and includes a range of improvements (see Patch Notes below).
Performance-related topics remain our highest priority, and we are actively working on further optimizations. That said, we want to emphasize that if your PC meets the system requirements, you should not experience major performance issues.
The most common causes of performance issues we’ve identified are:
Launching with Virtual Desktop (not yet natively supported). TEMPORARY SOLUTION: Until we have a fully functional solution, we’ve provided a separate version for Virtual Desktop users. Access: Right-click the game → Properties → Game Versions & Betas → virtual_desktop branch
Render resolution in SteamVR and/or Quest Link
Make sure the resolution is not set above 100%. This is the most common cause of performance issues, and adjusting in-game settings alone will not resolve it.

Fixed talking stick bouncing
Fixed chests sometimes spawning without padlocks and constraints
Tweaked the tutorial fight timers
Fixed palm leaves not spawning in certain scenarios (only applies to new saves)
Tweaked the volume of talking stick SFX
Increased the size and tweaked the location of the shoulder slots
Tweaked subtitle timing
Fixed music not playing in certain areas
Fixed “Trapper” achievement sometimes not triggering correctly
Environmental bugfixes and optimization
Lowered tribe people’s health
Lowered tribe people’s encounter length values
Some bow and arrow usability fixes
Arrows can no longer be inserted into Wood Sling. Existing saves still allow to remove the arrow inside it, but won't allow to insert new ones.
Fixed end credits being displayed in bold font for some language selections
Tweaked the scale of the end credits logo
Fixed “chapter complete" text localization
Fixed player hands getting wet in cutscenes
Start menu title screen now fades away after 30 seconds of inactivity (start menu still appears when any key is pressed)
Crouch capability removed in start menu
Fixed a game crash caused by chest respawn logic
Fixed dark water damage not triggering if the game is completed
