Hi all,
It's been almost 2 years since I both did my last development log, as well as released the game into beta. In celebration of the second one, I am releasing the biggest quality of life update the game has received in a while. This includes new sounds, which fit more into a retro theme, balance and game changes including a 'Progression Shop' where you can spend in-game money to buy levels! I've also done some minor improvements to the small things like user interface for Excavation!
While this update does lack in new content, there will also be a returning feature from the past, all updated and improved to fit with the current state of the game! I'm really excited for this final big thing to come out, which will be releasing on the 1st May! Or, you can spoil yourself and participate in the pre-release branch which is unstable, but has everything I've implemented so far.
The final sneak peek I'll show here is the new sprite for the repair torch, which is now a repair kit! I felt like the old one was just too far outdated and rushed, Especially as the torch came out in Patch #6 in 2024.
Rocky Mayhem has unfortunately lost it's very positive rating, due to people deleting their reviews. This is devastating to me as the continued support of my work feels like it has taken a hit. Unless the game achieves 50+ reviews again, I will have to suspend development for any new minor content and/or seasonal events and cosmetics. While critical bugs that are reported will be sorted out, or small improvements over the next year will be phased in, anything beyond that will no longer continue. This includes seasonal events, bonus quests, new cosmetics, and more levels. If Rocky Mayhem reaches 50 reviews again, which will restore the rating, I will keep on working on this game, otherwise this may be the last update for a while.
