In this update, we’ve implemented several bug fixes and optimizations. Please see the full details below:
🛠 Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the “Pierce” and “Slash” moves in the Heavenly Sword skill line were incorrectly identified as Stage 2 and Final forms during Mirage Tower challenges
Fixed an issue where completing the Martial Arts Tournament quest in the Hero’s Adventure DLC did not properly unlock its skill entry in the compendium
Fixed a lingering visual effect issue for the Demon Six Paths skill on the battlefield (visual only, does not affect skill functionality)
Updated the level 10 descriptions for all Hidden Weapons skills under Yin-Yang Division to include the effect that increases proficiency (text fix only, no gameplay change)
Corrected various typos across the game
🧪 Experimental Fixes
Attempted fix for a rare issue where returning equipment to the player could cause a companion’s attributes to disappear
✨ New Feature & Optimizations
Save File Naming is back!
This feature has been restored and is now supported on Steam Deck.
Use the “Rename” button in the Save/Load menu to input a custom save name via keyboard.Added an auto-save checkpoint during the Three Monks vs. Fulongzi battle in the main quest Battle of Tianfo Cave
⚠️ MOD Compatibility Reminder
If you’ve used MODs in a previous version of the game, this update may cause crashes or errors due to incompatibility.
We recommend:
Uninstalling all MODs:
- In your Steam Library → Right-click Wandering Sword → Manage → Browse local files
- Delete everything in: Wandering_Sword\\Content\\PaksVerifying the integrity of your game files
Restarting the game after cleanup
⚠️ Steam Update Issues
If Steam is not updating the game properly:
Go to your Steam installation folder and delete the steam.cfg file
Restart Steam and check for client updates
Note: As of January 1, 2024, Steam has dropped official support for Windows 7 and Windows 8. If deleting steam.cfg does not work, please confirm your OS version is supported.
⚠️ Intel 13th/14th Gen Crash Workaround
If you're using an Intel 13th or 14th Gen CPU and experiencing frequent crashes in UE-based games:
Download Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility)
Set Performance Core Ratio to 45 or 46
This setting can help prevent crashes for several days. If crashes return, you may need to repeat this adjustment.
