You may notice there's a little Critter universe going on with Isle of Swaps and Idle Critter Adventure and here's a new entry in the series; Critterrupters! This one is a true blue monster tamer. There's running around, there's downloading new Critters, theres battling other trainers, there's becoming the very best. It has it all.
Critterrupters is set a little bit after Isle of Swaps and it features the next new craze Critter Chips. Critter Chips is an augmented reality game but after travelling to Holon Island to get your Critter Terminal you'll also choose a buddy to go along with it. These guys are hardlight (basically a solid hologram) so they can interact with the world and follow you around. As for the interactions they'll be learning movement abilities to help you cross water, dig holes and jump up high cliffs. Critter Buddies are super useful.
Battles on Holon Island take place in real time (it pauses on your turn, don't worry) and your skills require charging for a few seconds before use. It's during this few charging seconds that being attacked will interrupt a Critter making it lose focus and it's turn!
When you want to download some new Critters you'll need to meet their conditions first. Maybe you need to inflict poison, or hit with a Spectral attack or do 15 damage in one hit. There's a large variety to keep downloads more like a puzzle than a generic formality.
