What We are Working On

Hey fellows,
Sha here. This post is a bit of a heads-up. There are three things coming up that I wanted to share with you.

Quality of Life Update

Based on your feedback, here are some things we are working on. I am not 100 percent sure if all of them will make it, because sometimes in development certain things prove to be way more challenging than we initially thought, but here is the plan:

  1. Our VR grouping tool, also for 2D. It’s a little circle you can drag and drop pieces into. Whatever is dropped into it is grouped together and can be moved together. For 2D, we are also adding the ability to grab the group tool itself, hover over pieces, and hoover them into the group by clicking on pieces while holding the group. This works for both mouse and controller. This is for classic mode.

  2. Multiselect with mouse (and, if we can figure out how, maybe controllers). For the sake of honesty, I have to admit that this is a stretch goal. I have no idea how much work it will take or if it will make it. This is for classic mode.

  3. Our tools (X-ray vision, turning off back faces, etc.) don’t have tutorials. While we haven't added one yet, based on user feedback we are adding tooltips. If you hover over a tool for a bit, it will be explained.

  4. Based on user feedback, we are showing the stuff you have completed in VR as completed in 2D and vice versa. Still no conversion between the two, though.

  5. For PCVR, we have a few players who play with hands. Officially, hand tracking is not supported for Steam. However, players are using a trick to have the hands work as if they were controllers. For those players, we are adding an option to be able to throw the pieces back to the wall physically with the controller. If they turn that on, they will have an easy way of pushing pieces back to the wall with the fake hand tracking.

If you have any thoughts on these, please let us know. We might be able to make small adjustments to how we implement things.

Puzzle Maker

Very soon we will start testing Puzzle Maker in alpha. To make sure the Puzzle Maker actually works in the real world, we will need your help testing the process. We have already tested a cloud-based version of Puzzle Maker with a couple of people with various skill sets—from a retired pilot with no previous experience to an indie dev. So regardless of skill level, you will be able to make your own puzzles. We will start with a small group and gradually increase the size until the full release. There will be a separate post once we are ready for sign-ups.

DLCs for Steam

We are still planning on bringing our most popular puzzles to Steam in May. We usually release DLCs on the first Thursday of the month, which won't be the case here. But we are almost there.
