Fought during the First World War from 25 April 1915 to 9 January 1916, Gallipoli was the first major amphibious operation in modern warfare.

In Beach Invasion 1915-Gallipoli, players face a wide variety of enemies, from infantry to armored vehicles on land, air and sea! Let's have a look through all the enemy types in the game:

1-Infantry

Infantry is the main enemy force players have to face. They will attack with bolt-action rifles, throw hand-grenades, some will charge with bayonets, and a few are even equipped with flame throwers!

2-Light Vehicles

Enemy will occasionally attack with light vehicles, such as staff cars or motorcycles, turned into combat role. These light vehicles are manned by one driver and one gunner, and equipped with machine guns.

3-Armored Cars

At the beginning of the 20th century, the first military armored vehicles were manufactured by adding armor and weapons to existing vehicles. Western front was the original destination for the Rolls-Royces armored cars, but they proved of little use in a battle zone that had deteriorated into a static trench warfare.  Several were deployed to Gallipoli, and saw some limited action.

Ottoman Empire had purchased several Hotchkiss armored cars before WWI, which were intended to be used to put down rebellions, as protection for roads and railways, or in anti-smuggling operations.

4-War planes

World War I was the first major conflict involving the use of aircraft. Initially, they were used mostly for reconnaissance. In the spring of 1915, gun-synchronizing device emerged which regulated the machine gun’s fire so as to enable the bullets to pass between the blades of the spinning propeller.

The first use of an air-dropped bomb was carried out during the Italo-Turkish War in Libya in 1911. Turks carried out the first anti-airplane operation in history during this war.

5-War ships

Ships of the Royal Navy, French Navy, Imperial Russian Navy and the Royal Australian Navy, attempted to force a passage through the Dardanelles Straits, a narrow waterway connecting the Mediterranean Sea with the Black Sea further north. This mighty fleet consisted of dozens of battleships, cruisers, destroyers and smaller ships. The naval operations were defeated by the Ottoman defenders, mainly through use of naval mines and coastal artillery.

6-Landing craft

In February 1915 the Admiralty commisioned to design and oversee the construction of 200 motor landing craft for the Gallipoli campaign and to be designated as ‘X’ Lighters.

Ottoman forces brought pontoons and rafts to cross the Suez Canal. Several floating bridges were constructed, at Ismailia, Kubri and Qantara.
