Truckful Demo 2.0 launches on Friday 20th - bigger, better, loaded with new content, characters, locations, vehicle upgrades, paths to unlock and enemies to face! We're beyond excited to share that its mostly brand new content so let's dive deeper into how Truckful has evolved!
First demo we released couple months ago was quite limited in content and achieved the median time of 20 minutes. For the upcoming Next Fest, we're expanding Truckful's demo and our internal tests showed around 45-60 min. It all depends on your playstyle and driving/delivery skills but overall, the world is around 4-5x bigger than before.
In the first demo, gameplay based around driving from one point to another with a clear linear progression. In the upcoming Next Fest demo, we plan to change things around and give you more freedom in exploring, delivering and picking routes. While Truckful is not a fully open-world game, we want to introduce a metroidvania-like exploration. Players will be able to drive around more freely and once the pickup truck is upgraded, new paths and roads will unlock.
Drive in, install equipment and upgrades - all available in the upcoming Next Fest demo. We introduced Theresa's Garage in the previous demo but now it's more interactive and features more upgrades. While menus remain a work-in-progress, the grid is coming in nicely!
You asked and we delivered! Customise your truck with a stellar range of 6 different colors - red (default), pink, green, blue, yellow and black! More paint colors and types are coming to Truckful, alongside many ornaments and stickers! 🎨
We're constantly updating user interface, menus and presentation and the upcoming demo will showcase a revamped HUD, speedometer, upgrade icons and menus. We also updated character cutouts, text fonts and many more smaller details.
We already introduced Mick, the Bar Owner before so now its time for Baron, Hotelier & Worker. We're still wrestling over their names so if you have any suggestions - feel free to share them in the comments! Baron will be the host of The Mansion, Worker will be clearing unlocked paths while Hotelier will be the host of.. you guessed it!
Horn & headlights were already introduced in the first demo and we're back with more truck upgrades! Next Fest demo brings two more fancy upgrades - Sticky Cargo and Booster. Sticky Cargo will let you keep the cargo in the truckbed while driving on speedbumps. This might prove extra helpful while driving through steep terrain or exploring more demanding locations. With a hit of a button, magnet will automatically bring cargo back but you need to act fast!
Booster is as simple as it sounds. Trying to evade the Ghost Truck? Jump over a cliff? We got you! Remember - all skills will have their own cooldowns so be mindful of that and drive carefully.
Ghost Truck received a major rework and is now bigger, faster, scarier and most importantly - getting struck by it won't result in a restart. This was one of the most often repeated feedback - constant restars after even a slight bumper-to-bumper action. New Ghost Truck will still haunt the forest at night but you'll be able to evade it.
