Quick update on where things are at with Captain Contraption’s Safari Park.

We’ve been working towards the next playtest build and… it’s turned into a much bigger change than we expected.A lot of that comes directly from the feedback from the first test. Thank you again to everyone who played and sent thoughts it genuinely shaped what we’ve been doing. The biggest change recently is how visitors move around the park. We’ve replaced the waypoint system with a proper path building mode, where you build loops for visitors to follow. It’s a much more natural way to lay things out and it actually makes the game feel quite different. You’re not just placing points anymore, you’re designing routes. Here is a sneak video preview! Don't worry... visitors can still get eaten. On top of that I’ve been putting a lot of time into the tutorial and general UI.A pretty clear theme from feedback was that the systems are interesting, but not always easy to read. So we’re focusing on making things easier to understand - more visibility into what’s going on, clearer feedback, and a tutorial that explains how things actually work rather than just what buttons to press.Still plenty to do, but it’s feeling like a big step forward. We don’t have an exact date for the next playtest yet, but it’s getting closer, remember you can sign up here https://www.pillbug.zone/

If you haven’t wishlisted the game yet, it really helps us a lot. And if you have - thank you. If you know someone who might enjoy building a park that immediately falls apart, feel free to send it their way.

News1 Sep 2026More creature details, More performance, and bug fixesHi everyone! This next update is coming earlier than I expected, but one of our players noticed a potential game breaking bug which I've now fixed and wanted to get out there. It means two big new changes have also come with this, more information about creatures and multithreading! Creature Inspector: creatures now explain themselves The old creature panel showed you four percentages and one s…News20 Aug 2026Playtest 5 Open for Everyone!Hi everyone! We have opened up the playtest again and are changing the way we run it. Instead of a fixed weekend test we are just going to keep the playtest open. As a small team we find it hard to get the word out about our games and having a playable version of the game on Steam (even if it is a beta) really helps. The plan is still to hold back updates until there is some significant change,…News21 Jul 2026Playtest 4 Open for Everyone!Good news! Captain Contraption's Safari Park Playtest 4 is live and available to download and play until 29th July. We decided to do a few more playtests before we push forward with the demo. The changes in this build are quite big. The goop economy has been rebuilt from the ground up, you can now sell buildings, dead creatures are no longer wasted, and runs get longer the better you play. Ther…
