Aria Iwakura - strikingly beautiful, enchanting and mysterious. She can be considered the story’s ‘main’ character, as so much of the story revolves around her and her fate.
The daughter of the Iwakura household, Aria is a frail young woman, quick to exhaustion. Her father, Amane, worried about how isolated and lonely she is, carefully selects Ichiko as his house-keeper, with a view to her being good company for Aria and, potentially, a friend.
Aria, however, is cold and hostile. She comes across cautious and slow to warm to their new houseguest. But with a keen appreciation for art, she eventually warms to Ichiko’s passionate and curious nature, and they eventually form an incredibly strong bond.
But Aria's true relationships with those around her, beg the greatest questions.
Things are not how they seem with Aria and her father. Why does the gardener stare piercingly at her? How does she support her fathers business?
How does she truly feel about Ichiko?
Only by exploring the mansion and deepening her bond with Aria can Ichiko uncover the devastating truth, and bring about a promising fate for this extraordinary young woman.
