Devlog – Recent Progress

I’ve added new dialogue, including interactions with Milca, who is now a fully separate character.
This brings more life and narrative depth to the world.

Exploration & Mysteries

New points of interest have been introduced. Among them are strange rocks covered in mysterious symbols…

They seem to have a unique effect: they can make dinosaurs disappear.
Maybe a strategic way to progress further?

Gameplay & Mechanics

Several events have been added to enrich the experience:

  • Electric Kentrosaurs

  • Dark Sarcosuchus

  • The Baryonyx, along with a whole Baryonyx family

  • And the final boss

All of these creatures have been altered by the breach.

Important note:
The symbol stones only interact with dinosaurs, not with other animals — otherwise, it would be far too easy.

Performance & Optimization

I’m continuing to work on performance.

  • View distance reduced from 250 → 150

  • Goal: maintain a stable 60 FPS, regardless of quality settings

So far, this change doesn’t negatively impact gameplay.
However, I’m still thinking about how to:

keep strong performance while still showing distant plains

What’s Next

I’m continuing to populate the first level with more content and events.

Once I have a more solid narrative and gameplay structure, I’ll move on to Level 2.

Working title ideas:

  • 🇫🇷 La Forêt Rouge / Écarlate / Sanglante

  • 🇬🇧 The Crimson Forest / The Scarlet Forest / The Bleeding Woods

I’m aiming for something mysterious and memorable.
