Happy new… correction, mew year, everyone! (and yes, it might be a fresh start, but the cat puns are going absolutely nowhere.). First of all, in the slog that’s always that first week back, thanks for choosing this particular article as the one to further put off replying to that email. Today, we’re scratching beneath the felt-tipped, colourful surface of Purrfect Date, and hinting at what you may or may not already suspect lies beneath…

From the cutesy cartoon cats to the earworm-personified launch song, you’d be forgiven for thinking you had Purrfect Date sized up. Throw in the fact that it’s been produced by Bossa Studios – an indie game manufacturer known for its quirky titles including I am Bread and Surgeon Simulator (yes, the one you where you get to operate on Donald Trump) – and it’s case closed. Or is it? Purrfect Date’s been out for less than a month, and so word’s only just begun to spread, but there’s more to these seemingly cute pussycats than meets the eye.

Is it a dating sim? Is it a visual novel? Or is it something entirely different altogether?

It’s not for us to say.

Because the Steam reviews have already spoken…

A closet dating-sim fan if ever we knew one!

Um, probably best to just ignore that last bit…

Genre benders, hey? What did we tell ya!

Yes, yes it does.

Caps, so you know it’s true. Better guard those ‘feels’ though…

Same goes for using bold. If not more so! (#caseinpoint)

Science, cats and mysteries. AKA, the pillars of life.

Redacted, for your own protection.

So, still think Purrfect Date’s just another dating sim? Check it out here on Steam and let us know in the comments below!

And ever since then, we’ve tried to remedy said rejection by worshiping the feline race from afar, whether that’s by constructing mammoth icons of worship (here's looking at you, Ancient Egyptians!), dedicating entire evenings to Youtube, irresi…Purrfect DateCommunity18 Jan 2018Q&A with gamer-boy, Kibbles!Kicking off the first of our upcoming Q&A seshes, we managed to prize Kibbles away from his joystick (harder than it sounds!) for a few minutes over the weekend in order to answer a few of the questions you guys sent us. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write in, and while it doesn’t look like Kibble’s spent quite as long answering them, well , he did have a somewhat convincing excuse. A…
