Dear friends, first of all — thank you all for checking the current build of Red Recon: 1944. And a special thanks to those who shared their impressions, feedback and bug reports with us.
Even though this is a very early version — missing some gameplay mechanics, polishing and optimization — we gathered a lot of valuable information. Most importantly we understood that people seems interested in our project and that we are moving the right direction with it.
Now, let’s talk specifics. The most noticeable bugs involved issues with quicksaves and quickloads — in some cases they lead to freezes, crashes, or breaking AI behavior. We also had problems with cutscene triggers, cursor glitches (including missing action progress indication) and a number of other technical problems, both major and minor. We record and analyze every report, so and rest assured — these bugs will be fixed.
Based on your feedback we’ve also identified a few key areas for future improvement: controls, UI and enemy behavior. Some of these were already on our radar, but all of them will now be reviewed and refined.
Right now, we’re working hard on the next version of Red Recon: 1944, which includes new mechanics, improvements to existing systems, further development of the story and many other exciting additions. Game development is a complex process, even small changes need time, effort and thorough testing. Many of the bugs and suggestions you’ve sent in will be addressed in future builds. Whether those updates will be public is still undecided, but for now, we’re keeping the current playtest open so that more players can try the game at their own pace.
We will do our best to deliver a rewarding, unforgettable experience at launch of Red Recon: 1944 . We’ll continue sharing updates across our social channels — so make sure to follow us and stay in the loop!
See you again soon!
