Time to prepare for the next season… or rebuild from the ashes! The Redraft feature, straight from the official Games Workshop rulebook, has landed in Blood Bowl 3.
Redraft allows teams to carry over into new "seasons" while forcing coaches to rebuild with a restricted budget.
At the end of a season:
A redraft budget is generated based on team performance.
The coach can re-hire former players, recruit fresh talent, or adjust their staff.
The team enters the new season with a revamped roster and financial cap (or not, you decide!).
League admins can activate the Redraft option directly in the league settings
And also via the game's admin tools: https://web.cyanide-studio.com/bloodbowl/?env=bb3_live_pc&lang=en
There are three automatic (and stackable) redraft triggers:
When a team joins the league
After playing a set number of fixtures (Bo1, Bo3, etc.)
After a competition ends (or the team is eliminated)
League admins can also trigger redrafts manually at any time via a dedicated button.
The redraft budget is automatically calculated using the following formula:
1,000,000 GP + remaining treasury +
20,000 GP per fixture played +
20,000 GP per win +
10,000 GP per draw
Note: each player costs an additional 20,000 GP to redraft per season spent on the team. The older your team, the more expensive it is to keep your veterans!
The budget can be capped (e.g. 1,300,000 GP) or unlimited, depending on league rules.
Once triggered, the redraft happens in the team management interface:
Recovery – MNG injuries are healed.
Budget generation – Based on past performance.
Team building – Recruit within your redraft budget.
Recovery rolls:
Players with lasting injuries or reduced stats roll to recover (4+, or 3+ with an apothecary).
⚠️ Your redraft must be completed before your next match!
A new mechanic allows you to temporarily retire players who have suffered a lasting injury.
These players become unavailable for matches but can be brought back during the next redraft. At that point, you may roll a D6 for each:
4+ to recover
3+ if your team redrafted an apothecary
This gives you a chance to save your valuable (but wounded) players instead of cutting them permanently.
