Patch Update - Game Title Changes

Kittenwood Cats - A Hidden Object Game · published 10 Mar 2026, 11:40 UTC

All eventsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

You may have noticed that some of our games are starting to receive new titles.

This change isn't a creative decision. It's something we are required to do.

The term "Hidden Cats" has recently been trademarked, which means developers using those words in their game titles must now rename their games to remain on the Steam store, or risk removal.

Over time, “hidden cats” had naturally become a common genre descriptor for cosy cat-finding games - created by many indie developers. However, small teams like ours rarely have the resources to challenge legal claims, so the choice becomes simple:

Rename the games - or risk losing them entirely.

So, we're adapting.

Only the titles are changing. The games themselves remain exactly the same cosy experiences you have come to know, and love.

Thank you for continuing to support indie developers and the worlds we create.
