Thinking about Exit Dream 2 - feedback welcome

I’m thinking about Exit Dream 2.

Exit Dream was always meant to be dream logic first - eerie vibes, abstract spaces, and figuring things out the hard way. The response has been mixed, but it made one thing clear: if I do ED2, I want it to lean harder into what makes the experience unique.

Here are a few directions I’m considering:

  1. Spoiler resistance
Right now, watching a walkthrough can remove the mystery. For ED2, I want solutions to be less “one fixed route” - so even if you’ve seen footage, you still have to think (and adapt).

  2. Less daytime logic, more dream logic
Exit Dream already bends reality - ED2 would go further. More moments where the world behaves like a dream, not a puzzle box.

  3. Stronger surreal / abstract vibe
More uncanny atmosphere and visual weirdness - less explanation, more feeling.

If you played Exit Dream (or bounced off it), I’d love your input:

  • What was the best part - atmosphere, weirdness, puzzles, something else?

  • What frustrated you the most?

  • Would you prefer ED2 to be more structured or even more surreal?

Exit Dream is still free on Steam - and if you leave a comment, I’ll read every one.

That reaction is exactly what the game was designed for. Exit Dream was made to feel like a real dream - unclear goals, distorted spaces, and puzzles that refuse to explain themselves. It’s short, free, and intentionally disorienting. There are no tutorials and no hand-holding.
