I wanted to take a moment to share some important news about Whiskara. After a lot of hard thought, I’ve made the difficult decision to the project on hold indefinitely.
When I first started working on Whiskara, I was passionate, excited, and full of ideas... but also still fairly inexperienced. Over the 8-ish month development time, I’ve grown a lot as a developer, and through that growth, I’ve come to realise that the scope of Whiskara was simply more than I, a single developer, could realistically manage. I bit off more than I could chew.
Whiskara will never be forgotten. It is a huge milestone in my development journey, and one I’m incredibly proud of, even if it didn’t make it to the finish line. It has taught me invaluable lessons about creating games.
I still love making games, and I’m not stopping anytime soon. Moving forward, I’ll be focusing on a smaller, more manageable project... one where I can apply everything I’ve learned so far to deliver something polished and complete.
To everyone who supported Whiskara, followed along, or cheered me on, thank you. Your support has meant a lot to me. I hope you’ll stick around for what's next. I’m more excited than ever to keep creating and making gamers happier.
Following next week, I will set the game to a Free-to-play status, as I cannot promise future updates will come to Whiskara. Thank you to the supporters who contributed to development, even if I never met the minimum payout threshold.
