Hi Everyone! Long time no see!
2 years ago I made a post on here talking about STDs 1 Year anniversary. In that post, other than reflecting on how crazy it's been that a year has gone by I talked about a BIG update that was coming and how it would be coming soon.
I think it goes without saying that that the update may have been uprooted by another project... and that project is what I'm here promoting to you!
I won't shill here because you can watch the trailer and go visit the steam page yourself if you are intrested. But simply put I've been working on a pretty ambitious 2D platformer. It's been a blast to work on and I really do hope you guys will check it out. If it's not up your alley I understand, just thought I'd let you know where I've been
Realistically this project is going to take me another 1.8ish years to complete. Meaning that STD will continue to be left untouched until Gappy is finished. Sorry :/
However. That update I talked about in the OG post IS real. It WAS being worked on and the work is still done. On my downtime while not working on Gappy I've been writing out a huge list of ideas I want to implement into STD. Something that will seriously change the game!
It may be controversial, it may be amazing, I'm not sure yet. But I just want all you STD-fiends to know I am still alive and I DO want to work on STD. From may of 2022 I've grown a lot not only as a person but as a designer and programmer. STD as it stands right now is not up to my standards.
Not in just a "oh it's old so it's not good" kinda way. But in a serious misunderstand or more so fumbling of an idea that COULD have been executed better if I would have has a perspective shift, or would have been more willing to push myself outside of my comfort zone.
Once Gappy is done, I'd like to make an effort to make a really big, fun update for STD. As I view STD less as a art piece I'm trying to sell and more as just a unfiltered, true work of art by yours truly.
That isn't to say that I don't veiw gappy in the same way! In fact, Gappy was made with the mindset of making beautiful artisitcally over making something that's JUST mechanically fun. But I just think a cute little green guy is a bit more palatable to the average person compared to a grubby, vulgar, heroin addict... just a hunch!
anways, go wishlist Gappy's Adventure and hang tight for the next STD update.
